What the heck is a “localized terror attack”? A feud with your next door neighbor?

And what are “suspected pipe bombs”? Some rusty plumbing parts lying in a heap under the house trailer?

And do you suppose this dufus actually had completed Molotov cocktails lying around, you know, crates of Coke bottles full of gasoline with rags sticking out the tops? Or maybe the “cocktails” consisted of a pile of old Coke bottles and some dirty clothes under the trailer along with a gas can for the lawn mower?

Odd that he was only charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm if he was an actual terrorist with bombs and Molotov cocktails and such.

A guy named Buford, living in a trailer park, playing with things that blow up - who woulda thunk it?

“A guy named Buford, living in a trailer park, playing with things that blow up - who woulda thunk it?”

Well, South Carolina, maybe, but Minnesota? But then again I’m continuously reminded that redneck is a state of mind, not a geographic location.

From the other comments, it sounds like this guy is not a bearded savage terrorist, but an American with materials that can go boom.

>>The FBI said in the release that the lives of numerous Montevideo residents were potentially saved.<<

They must have broken their damn legs jumping to that conclusion.

and his name is ‘Buford’ he’s the perfect scapegoat for the left’s ‘hate whitey’ impulses that they exposed after the Boston attacks.

Sounds bogus to me. Not a terrorist, but a minor criminal punk, I’d guess.

That's how I read it too. Consider this, the Feds still haven't been able to guess at what the Boston bombers motivation was, but in this case they are certain the individual was motivated to be a terrorist.

As you said, it sounds like they caught a petty criminal with a few items that go bang. And what was the armored vehicle needed for? They likely could have just waited for him to walk out his door and then cuff him in a routine arrest.

I read this as a sign that the Feds are making a case much larger than this one felon.

Methinks they are overusing the Terrorism label a bit, for any 2-bit nutcase.
As they are using the term "Weapons of Mass Destruction" for a simple bomb, where that term once was reserved for nuclear, chemical or biological weapon, i.e. something that could kill thousands.

Gotta justify those Homland Security grants somehow.

Same crap goers on here in North Central WV. “Terrorism”, “Terrorist”, “Terrorist Act” and “Terrorist Threat” are the new buzz-words of small town PDs and Sheriff’s Depts.....makes ‘em feel important.

Well, I thought about him too, but if I am not mistaken, he is no longer with us, so I did not want to mention him.

He was murdered on August 21, 1974, but the official cause of death was by injuries sustained in a “car accident”.
