The deputy of slain U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens has told congressional investigators that a team of Special Forces prepared to fly from Tripoli to Benghazi during the Sept. 11, 2012 attacks was forbidden from doing so by U.S. Special Operations Command South Africa.
The account from Gregory Hicks is in stark contrast to assertions from the Obama administration, which insisted that nobody was ever told to stand down and that all available resources were utilized. Hicks gave private testimony to congressional investigators last month in advance of his upcoming appearance at a congressional hearing Wednesday.
According to excerpts released Monday, Hicks told investigators that SOCAFRICA commander Lt. Col. Gibson and his team were on their way to board a C-130 from Tripoli for Benghazi prior to an attack on a second U.S. compound "when [Col. Gibson] got a phone call from SOCAFRICA which said, 'you can't go now, you don't have the authority to go now.' And so they missed the flight ... They were told not to board the flight, so they missed it."

What are Obama and Clinton covering up that is so heinous that they were willing to leave the whole Benghazi staff - forty or so people - to die?
That they didn’t all die is due only to the heroism of a few who defied orders to render aid. Those few paid with their lives with Obama and Clinton lying over their flag-draped coffins on national tv.

Why didn't 0bama attempt a rescue? He was deathly afraid that a Carter-like failed rescue (Iran hostage crisis botched rescue) negatively impact his re-election as it did Carter, then Reagan won. It would be easier to simply bury the entire event for 8 lousy weeks. Also, a rescue by 0bama would be admission that he was WRONG about Al Qaeda and the WOT!

Simply couldn’t risk losing the election. Nothing else mattered.
But Obama could have had the SpecOps go in, and he and the military could have been the big heroes. If he just wanted a boost he could have done that. Especially since the government that we helped install was actually willing to tell the truth immediately - that this was a terrorist attack. Obama could even have said, “See? The regime we helped install is with us in the war on terror!”
No, I think there had to have been something more going on there. They planned this far in advance - preparing the video to be used as an excuse, refusing security to make sure this could happen, etc.
