Why is this liberal twit receiving the award?

Because it's a liberal award. Winners include:

• Connecticut governor Lowell Weicker, who won it in 1992 for pushing through a state income tax over the objection of most Nutmeggers

• John McCain and Russell Feingold for pushing through the McCain-Feingold law that muzzles free speech

• John Murtha for his efforts to get us to bug out of Iraq

It takes a lot of courage to deal with traumatic injury, and you have to give her great credit for that.

But it takes no courage at all to take the easy, popularly approved, know-nothing gun grabbing position. All you have to do is spout the usual liberal inanities, and you are beloved by all.

I believe that her husband is taking advantage of her notoriety to gain an extra 15 minutes for himself. Just as Mrs. Brady did and is still doing.

And then making a few Bucks on the side as idiots send their foundations money isn’t so bad either. All of those paid for trips and hotel rooms, food and beverages aint nothing to cry about. A medal here and there with dinner and glad handing the swells beats sitting home with a semi-veggie.
