Noah Crooks, 14, admitted to shooting his mother more than 20 times and trying to rape her while on the phone with the 911 dispatcher on March 24, 2012. His father, William Crooks, testified on Friday that he didn't take the text seriously.

The father of an Iowa teen accused of murdering his mother thought the text was a joke.

William Crooks, 41, testified on Friday about a text he received from his son on March 24, 2012 that said "Dad this is Noah. I killed Mom accidentally. I regret it. Come home now please."

Fourteen-year-old Noah Crooks faces charges of first-degree murder and assault with intent to commit sexual abuse for the death of Gretchen Crooks.

Any bets this demon wasn’t jacked up on all kinds of meds? Say, Ritalin for starters, and we can go from there.

As far as the dad is concerned, it would be really tough to believe your kid just killed his mom. He maybe really did believe it was a prank of some sort.

Who Knows? Not like we’ll ever find out.

Agreed, people just don’t seem to realize just how dangerous some of those meds are. Look back at most of the mass killings and you’ll find that all of them were on one sort or another. There’s a reason we didn’t have as many of these back before these drugs started to be prescribed.

I wouldn't be surprised.

Especially with that whole ‘I don’t know why I did it’ theme.

I was reminded of that Door's song.

Father?
Yes son?
I want to kill you.

Mother......
I want tooooo........
......
all night long.

Weird song. Even weirder when a semblance of it happens for real.

“Prayers up for the mother.”

What does this mean? She’s dead.

A definite possibility, to be sure.

OTOH, wouldn't you expect somebody who was seriously screwed up in the head to be on some kind of meds?

Causation, correlation and all that.

People don’t stop praying for souls because the person is dead. The more prayers the better.

He’ll go to juvie and get out when he’s 18..

(shrug) Yeah, probably.
That's when there will be true justice, depending on whether the murdered mother has a brother or a father as psycho as, well, a lot of people.

In this case, prayers for everyone. What a sad nightmare all around.

Shooting someone over 20 times is not an accident. He’ll go to juvie and get out when he’s 18 and vote democrat. Prayers up for the mother.

Prayers for the rest of us when he's walking the streets in a few years. Talk about a bad seed. He won't be changed for the better.

His worldview wasn’t formed by the game, that was just the immediate reason for his anger. Since the media and schools have taught him that he needs immediate gratification and his self-esteem was at stake he blamed mom.

Mom became an obstacle to his self-gratification, this violated everything he was ever taught. Planned Parenthood even tells those HIV-AIDS carrying youngsters not to let it stop them from sexual gratification, just don’t tell the other person/people you have the disease. (a felony in most states I believe)

His mom naturally became an enemy of the State of Noah. Until the real world dawned on him
