States: 'Blindsided' by plan to shift costs of 'uninsurables' to them under ObamaCare
Fox News / The Associated Press ^ | May 4, 2013

Thousands of people with serious medical problems are in danger of losing coverage under President Obama's health care overhaul because of cost overruns, state officials say.

At risk is the Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan, a transition program that's become a lifeline for the so-called uninsurables -- people with serious medical conditions who can't get coverage elsewhere. The program helps bridge the gap for those patients until next year, when under the new law insurance companies will be required to accept people regardless of their medical problems....

We ***NEED*** to start calling "Obamacare" what it REALLY is .... "Democare". We can either let all the chickens come to roost on Obama, or we can have those chickens visit each and every candidate with a '(D)' beside their name.

That one little change in wording would literally be worth billions in campaign advertising.

More like "DMV Care" .

(Who can't relate to that nightmare?)

The people who voted for Obamacare in Congress won’t be affected since they are exempting themselves as usual. I would not be surprised to learn that most of those who WILL be negatively impacted voted for Obama and the Congressman/Senators who passed the legislation.

Blindsided? The States did not see this coming? Then the Governors are stupid as well.

Not just blue states...AZ (red, for now) Gov Brewer accepted the expansions, too.

Tell me about it...but you can you send me a link. I was just thinking yesterday that virtually NOTHING that goes on during a session even gets reported anymore.

But it’s still up to Perry in the end...we’ll see if he’s real - at least on this issue.

Our area rep does a weekly newsletter albeit thus far more of a photo op presentation than anything of real substance. I also get a Legislative Report from Steve Hotze, M.D. who is President of Conservative Republicans of Texas. Believe it is weekly when they are in session. Seems to be a pretty good review of what is going on in Austin legislatively speaking. Might want to check them out at www.crtpac.com and get on the mailing list for the Legislative Report.

Never known Strauss to be very disclosing and unfortunately there is not the level of info coming out of Austin that we as citizens need in order to keep up with what is going on. I think it is particularly important since they don’t meet that often and Austin has been known to crank a whole lot of bills through within a very short period of time which may not be in the best interest of our citizens or state.

All of this was designed to happen, it was designed to fail so the voters will support nationalized healthcare

Thanks much. I’m familiar with Hotze (from Democratic disdain, where else). I’ll check them out.
