Liberal Group Cited in Terrorism Case
American Spectator ^ | 2 May 2013 | Jeff Lord

Leo Johnson, a black man, has never received an apology from the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Not a word.

Which is passing strange for a group that proclaims itself to be “a nonprofit civil rights organization dedicated to fighting hate and bigotry, and to seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of society.”

Johnson, the African-American building manager and security guard for the Family Research Council (FRC) was shot and wounded last August 15 by an angry gay activist, Floyd Corkins. Corkins was angry over the FRC’s support for heterosexual marriage. Researching the group on the Internet, he found that the website for the left-wing activist SPLC had listed the FRC as a “hate group.”

The FRC was listed in this fashion, says the group’s president, Tony Perkins, merely because the conservative group supported marriage between a man and a woman.

This good man deserves an apology, but he will never get one, liberals never apologize.

just because some nut job got the idea from SPLC does not mean SPLC owes a wounded guy an apology, that is a stretch

“Included was this stark admission from Dees’ business partner Millard Fuller:

“Morris and I…shared the overriding purpose of making a pile of money. We were not particular about how we did it; we just wanted to be independently rich.”

Some lawsuits from the victims of these POS’s would help to divest them of their ill-gotten gains. And make up for some of the harm they’ve done!

All you need to know about the SPLC:

“These five men, all linked with Occupy Wall Street, attempted to blow up a bridge as an overture to the wholesale destruction of Cleveland, Ohio, and in the name of anarchism. They also looked to blow up the Republican convention.”

“They were anarchists,” he repeated.

“Yes?”

He paused. “We’re not really set up to cover the extreme Left.”

I’d say the opposite is true. SPLC regularly libels anybody — including Free Republic — to the left of the Girl Scouts as a “hate group”. In this particular case, there is a short, straight line connecting their libelous website with the FRC shootings.

This was a hate crime, pure and simple. And SPLC should be held liable for instigation.

The battle between FRC and these low-lives is pitched and fierce. Time to swing the hammer.

I think they do as well as the media that has ignored this case of politically motivated gun violence like the plague. Can you imagine a guy showing up at a liberal political organization in DC with an arsenal ready to kill as many people as possible and it not be something focused on for days and days? Everytime Sandyhook would be brought up right there alongside Giffords would be the incident involving this political attack and we also know that the security guard would have been held up as a hero extraordinaire in the msm so much so you might think he was a gay black nba player rather than just a black security guard.

The mistake you make is that you are not thinking like a liberal and that is exactly why they succeed. They hold up the insults to their cause as poor me badges to eviscerate their opponents and silence them. I understand not liking to play the victim but the choice is that liberals end up looking in the eyes of the world not politically engaged like poor put upon victims of mean cold conservatives and right wingers.

I don’t like the game but not playing it isn’t any better than surrender.

merely because the conservative group supported marriage between a man and a woman.

"Marriage between a man and a woman", eh? Redundant much?

FRC supports marriage, period. Everyone knows what it is; the word needs no qualifiers. But matriphobes pretend there are various kinds of it, and try to confuse us by attaching qualifiers such as "traditional" or "same-sex".

Yep, SPLC needs to grow up and apologize. They should be held liable for the hate crime they have committed. Hopefully they repent.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Mr. Leo Johnson. God Bless

From the article: "He was a political activist and considered the FRC a lobbying group. He committed the shooting for political reasons."

So then the shooter is a fascist. Fascists shoot people they dont agree with.
