Obama cites Mexican writer who called the United States ‘protector of tyrants’

President Barack Obama cited in his address to the people of Mexico on Friday a deceased Mexican writer who wrote that the United States was “the protector of tyrants,” condemned “North American imperialism” and expressed sympathy with an anti-American regime.

Obama repeatedly referenced Nobel Prize-winning Mexican writer Octavio Paz (1914-1998) in his speech Friday at the Anthropology Museum in Mexico City, which he visited on the second day of a three-day tour of Mexico and Costa Rica.

“In modern times, Mexico’s blend of cultures and traditions found its expression in the murals of Rivera and the paintings of Frida, and the poetry of Sor Juana and the essays of Octavio Paz,” Obama said.

“And Paz once spoke words that capture the spirit of our gathering here today — in this place that celebrates your past, but which this morning is filled with so many young people who will shape Mexico’s future. Octavio Paz said, ‘Modernity is not outside us, it is within us.  It is today and the most ancient antiquity; it is tomorrow and the beginning of the world; it is a thousand years old and yet newborn,’” Obama said.

“And that’s why I wanted this opportunity to speak with all of you today, because you live at the intersection of history that Octavio Paz was referring to,” Obama said.

Octavio Paz called the United States the “protector of tyrants” in his 1982 essay, “Latin America and Democracy.”

“The United States has been one of the principal obstacles we have encountered in our efforts to modernize ourselves,” Paz wrote in his essay. “In Latin America, the United States has been the protector of tyrants and the ally of the enemies of democracy.”

Paz also noted in his essay that he understood the anti-Americanism of the Nicaraguan government at that time.

Paz wrote in a 1987 essay for his literary magazine Vuelta that his pro-democracy viewpoints should not be confused with “the defense of North American imperialism, nor with that of Latin America’s conservative military regimes.”

“What Mexico was he talking about?”

The kind that the useful idiots want to hear about.

As a second note, well, whomever voted for this guy shouldn’t bother complaining.

No he doesn’t write his own speeches.
Looks like he’s conscientiously doing another
World Tour as the Appointed Spokesman 4 American
Guilt and Shame. His speeches read like they’re written
by a computer that’s been programmed by every word ever
written about America’s perceived shortcomings 4 the last
50 years, then regurgitated with timely alterations to every
waiting ear in the 3rd World. They are designed to make everyone else *eel good about THEIR shortcomings, with America as the pre-eminent Guilty Party and direct cause o*
those shortcomings. His pandering dishonesty truly IS BOTTOMLESS. He represents THE REST O* THE WORLD, and we’re
in the unenvious position o* having no one to represent US.

It’s disturbing that Democrats have no problem with this overt hostility towards the United States.

Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo were Mexican Communists who worked for world communism, though Rivera was a supporter of Trotsky for a long time

Another Mexican Communist Party leader and Soviet assassin was David Alafro Siqueiros (formerly of the communist International Brigades in Spain). He attempted to kill Trotsky and his family on May 24, 1940, but failed and was captured by the police. He was part of a Soviet operation in Mexico which was controlled by their USSR’s Secret Police, then known as the GPU, later the NKVD, then KGB.

Both he and Rivera were “artists” whose wall paintings usually showed issues concerning class warfare. In fact, Leon Trotsky lives in Rivera’s house outside of Mexico City for a while until they had an as yet not fully explained argument that split them apart. Rivera had been a Trotskyite for a while and a friend of Trotsky in his Mexican exile from Russia.

See: “The KGB against the “Main Enemy””, Romerstein and Levchencko for a couple pages on Siqueiros and the masterful “On a Field of Red: The Communist International and the Coming of World War II”, Cave Brown and MacDonald for a couple pages on Siqueiros’ attempt to murder Trotsky.

Obama flunked his history class in Mexican communism, but did pretty well in his classes in American communism.

How much worse can things get for America under the heel of this phony, sociopathic, Islamic-loving, communist tyrant?

How bad can things get?

Let’s look at Last Term’s Highlights, shall we? And, remember........This was while he still faced a Reelection.

He took $900,000,000,000 in “Stimulus Money” and doled it out to HIS SUPPORTERS in the Public Sector Unions, and to his Big Donors and Bundlers, in the Form of “Subsidies” for their “Shell” Companies. He gave it to them. Then he UNILATERALLY Changed the Bankruptcy Laws to favor HIS PEOPLE, so that when these Front Companies went Belly Up - which they were always intended to do - Obama’s Money Men got THEIRS first, skimming some off the top for their Benefactor’s coffers. (Can anyone guess where all that money went, that John Global Corzine “misplaced”? Or, why he hasn’t been Charged with ANYTHING by that Blacks Only race-baiter in the Justice Department?)

He had his Energy and Interior Secretaries FORGE DOCUMENTS to a Federal Judge, and then put in place an ILLEGAL Drilling Moratorium in the Gulf, up in Alaska, and up and down our East and West Coastlines. He remains, to this day - In Contempt of a Federal Court. (Sounds like a Misdemeanor to me. But then, I don’t wet myself at the sound of the Halfrican’s voice)

Bronco Bama is a creature of Generation Whine, comprised of those who were taught that everything they think is right, everything they demand is Law, and everything they want is theirs. All their lives, all they had to do was scream, and Mommy handed over the keys to happiness. Now they’re screaming into a vacuum. The man behind the curtain is not only not a wizard, but he is not a man.
