“No, no, no,” he explained. “Not the wannabe sick kid who blew up the Boston marathon or the freak that’s mailing ricin-laced letters to the president. I’m talking about the real terrorist threat here in America: the National Rifle Association.”

Well, sort of. I think it's a sign of insanity to badmouth a group that is generally armed. By the time the Germans got around to demonizing the Jews, the public had been more or less disarmed. Doesn't make the demonization sane, just makes it safer for the bigmouth.
Is this joker a leader in the demonization? I don't think so, other than maybe his intensity and directness. I figure most liberals share his sentiment, but just do a better job of keeping their beliefs under wraps.

What I mean is someone has to break the ice for such demonization to become ‘ok’ and then the drones all chime in. The chorus builds over time and it becomes ‘the will of the people’. Then the violence begins, the fear runs rampant and you have history repeat. And this jackass is not alone in such comments. He just has a platform. Facebook/DU rants are one thing but this is a ‘legit’ (yea I know but he sorta is) guy doing it.

Every effort should be made to contact them about their advocacy of suspending due process and rounding up 4 million NRA members and putting them in concentration camps.

With each passing day you can see and hear (and read) the liberal patience growing ever thinner; the desire to "do something about this Republican/Conservative "problem" grows stronger: they can't wait to be rid of us.
Sooooo.... the better to help them along by making them the ones who want to secede. No need for another bloody fight. Let them go off and create their socialist utopia (hellhole) in one part of the country, while we pull ourselves up and rebuild what's left into something resembling what the Founding Fathers intended.
I would not be surprised to see them come crawling back to us a few years later, hat in hand, asking for "foreign aid" from us!
That's how I took it. But I think there have been high level spokespeople making similar sounds about the sanity of NRA members. I'm not saying they propose the same remedy, GTMO without any due process, but this clown isn't the first to paint NRA members as irrational. "Bitter clingers" comes to mind.
The demonization has been fair game for years. It's not getting the desired rise, so now some of the less stable units will ratchet up the tone of the rhetoric. It's a good time to needle them into making even more ludicrous claims. I don't think anybody who counts takes them seriously, other than seeing them as individual personal threats. The sort of person you keep your kids away from, and you keep a close eye on him in public.

Right. But this is a guy with a mic jacking the rethoric up 12 notches. The media as you say have long demonized the NRA/Gun owners. This media guy went well beyond them, called for an end to constitutional rights and imprisoning those he deems evil bases on his say so.
I just see it as the volume knob going from 2 to 5.
Guns are bad Johnny. If they come to take us to GITMO we just call the police. They will save us...oh wait...nevermind... ;)
