Two more arrests as FBI investigates 'bomb plot' (2000)
The Guardian ^ | Jan 4, 2000 | Julian Borger

Posted on 05/03/2013 4:33:55 PM PDT by bgill

Two more people have been arrested in Seattle and New York, FBI officials said yesterday, as investigators tried to break up a suspected terrorist network they believe was plotting a bomb attack against a US target .... Graham Fuller, a specialist on Islamic extremism and a former CIA analyst, said: "I'm a little sceptical about the possibility that the GIA is now targeting us because it would have been accompanied by some kind of rhetoric. Therefore I would speculate that these guys are working on their own or hired by someone else."

And Mr Fuller argued that Mr Ressam's Afghan training was not conclusive evidence of a Bin Laden connection.

"Virtually every serious mujahed, every Islamic fighter, would have been in Afghanistan, would have received training for building car bombs, and would probably have come across Bin Laden. We have to be careful when we talk about 'links'."

Date is old but relevant. Graham Fuller is Boston Bombers' Uncle Ruslan Tsarvaev's ex-father in law.

Fuller helped get us in this mess

“”The policy of guiding the evolution of Islam and of helping them against our adversaries worked marvelously well in Afghanistan against the Red Army,” explains a former CIA analyst. “The same doctrines can still be used to destabilize what remains of Russian power, and especially to counter Chinese influence in Central Asia.” In a certain sense, the Cold War is still going on. For years Graham Fuller, former Deputy Director of the National Council on Intelligence at the CIA, has been talking up the “modernizing virtues” of the Islamists, insisting on their anti-Statist concept of the economy. Listening to him, you would almost take the Taleban and their Wahhabi allies for liberals. “Islam, in theory at least, is firmly anchored in the traditions of free trade and private enterprise,” wrote Fuller. “The prophet was a trader, as was his first wife. Islam does not glorify the State’s role in the economy.

“Islam, in theory at least, is firmly anchored in the traditions of free trade and private enterprise,”

That's a load of crap. Islam is a self described socialistic "Religion"

Article 21 of the Hamas Covenant.

Mutual social responsibility means extending assistance, financial or moral, to all those who are in need and joining in the execution of some of the work. Members of the Islamic Resistance Movement should consider the interests of the masses as their own personal interests. They must spare no effort in achieving and preserving them. They must prevent any foul play with the future of the upcoming generations and anything that could cause loss to society. The masses are part of them and they are part of the masses. Their strength is theirs, and their future is theirs. Members of the Islamic Resistance Movement should share the people's joy and grief, adopt the demands of the public and whatever means by which they could be realised. The day that such a spirit prevails, brotherliness would deepen, cooperation, sympathy and unity will be enhanced and the ranks will be solidified to confront the enemies.

Hahaha, you don’t know but I typed the same about 3 times but deleted each time. Circles within circles, six degrees and the old Lincoln/Johnson/Kennedy trivia. But, still, a lot of weird stuff.

Re “Have they connected them back to Kevin Bacon yet”?

I’ll try. Graham Fuller - first name same as that of author Graham Green. “Green is also in “Green Eggs and Ham”. “Ham” is related to “Bacon”.

I’m sure Kevin Bacon eats both. Voila’! Ze connection is established. That was easy.

Also, K is the first letter in Kevin Bacon’s name and also the first letter in the world “Kosher”. SO now we have “Kosher Kevin Bacon”.

Put that in your pan and cook it!

Note that Richard Labevier was the guy who claimed Osama bin Laden had kidney problems and needed dialysis. [Which incidentally is the same claim made about Saddam Hussein when some folks wanted him to be left alone because due to the alleged illness he’d be gone soon anyway.] Not sure how reliable his reporting of the quotes of other people may be.
