(Reuters) - The number of names on a highly classified U.S. central database used to track suspected terrorists has jumped to 875,000 from 540,000 only five years ago, a U.S. official familiar with the matter said.

When the details about the underwear bomber came out, I was thinking to myself, if I had a new CIA recruit and I was giving him a database research exercise, I would put forward a training scenario like that bomber - the guy was practically walking around with a sign on his chest that shrieked "I AM A TERRORIST!"

And then a few days later Brennan was on the radio saying about how difficult it was to detect a suspect in a situation like that. And now that clueless idiot is in charge of the CIA.
