Emily’s List launches effort to elect female president; hopes for Hillary Clinton

At the kickoff of a six-figure campaign to elect America's first female president in 2016, Emily's List President Stephanie Schriock addressed the question on everybody's mind: Will Hillary Clinton run?

"There is one name that seems to be getting mentioned more than others," Schriock told reporters at the National Press Club Thursday. "We do not know if Hillary is going to run. But we're hopeful that she may."

Schriock, whose group (the name stands for "Early Money Is Like Yeast") works to get pro-choice Democratic women elected to office at the local, state and federal levels, noted there are other women who could run for president in 2016, but that she believes Clinton currently has the best chance to win.

"I think it’s clear if she decides to take this on, she’s in an incredible position," Schriock said in response to a reporter's question. "[But] for us, it’s not about one particular candidate."

Emily's List's effort—which will utilize its network of 2 million members—is called the "Madam President Campaign." It will focus on battleground states such as Iowa, Nevada and New Hampshire, and will include town hall meetings, online events, ads and Internet engagement.

The group says it's armed with data commissioned from political pollsters Anzalone Liszt Grove Research that shows America has reached a "tipping point" and is ready to see a woman as president.

According to the poll,

I would vote for Sarah Palin or Michelle Bachmann any time.

Emily’s Losers and abortion are usually synonymous. Notice now it’s just about women candidates supposedly.

Hey Stephanie: perhaps Sarah Palin is available?

I have recently been struggling through Barbara Olsen's The Final Days. I say struggling because I can read only about three pages at a time. More than that and I would probably stroke out.

Of course it's highly unlikely anyone on this board would give The Hildabeaste the time of day, but that book has page after page of documented crimes committed by the Clinton Syndicate. Olsen's earlier book, Hell to Pay is the benchmark book on The Hildabeaste.

I remember a "joke" by the reprehensible Tina Fey, years ago on SNL's Weekend Update -- that talk about Hitlery's nomination was a sign that the DNC wanted its ass handed to it. Emily's List is not a business now, it's a PAC.

She just wants a “woman” president ? Not caring about the individuals ability to lead etc ? Man or woman I care not albeit they must be a conservative constitutionalist to get my vote.

This is what is wrong with our nation. Idiots who want a three balled cat for president because its a first when such agendas may be America’s last....damn.

My opinion...stay safe !

How about just going for the best President and stop caring what sex or color they are. How about that?

“The first thing they need to do is make up their minds. Do they want a female president or do they want Hillary as president?”

The first thing they need to do is make up their minds whether they want to run a business or a political campaign.

If I was already a member (which I’m not because Emily’s List is basically a scam), I’d quit pronto and tell them why.

Rumors have it that Michelle Obama is going to run in 2016. Emily’s List will pivot to her if that happens.

Emily’s list is all for women candidates, but ONLY if they’re vehemently pro-abortion.

They’d have a serious conniption fit if the first woman to become President was a conservative.

I believe the first woman President WILL be a Republican, if not a doctrinaire conservative.
