The Houston Chronicle article states that he was a troubled young man.

He left a suicide note as well as things he wrote on facebook appears that he was a very troubled young man.

THIS WAS NOT A PERSON KILLING HIMSELF TO PROTEST THE NRA.

Just the sad case of a troubled young man who took his own life.

I imagine many people have known people who committed suicide who were deeply troubled inside...

They should make suicide illegal.

There is a 1975 movie that changed the roles that Kurt Russell played.

This was the The Deadly Tower.

This is a similar story in that the shooter is a very troubled young man.

The difference between what happened at IAH and The Deadly Tower is the person who killed so many at the University of Texas campus was WHITE.

The movie ends with a note written by the shooter asking for his body to be examined as to why he was so troubled.

The difference between this story and what happened today was that many innocent people died in Austin, Texas that day of the The Deadly Tower.

Apparently the report of a second person shot was false.

There are reports of 5 shots total fired.

Of course we won’t see Mental Illness adressed as a factor in shootings. Just a whole lot of talk about how many people he could have killed with that “assault rifle”.

And yet, none of our Dear Leaders will address the row after row of sitting ducks, waiting for their opportunity to perform the Compliance Shuffle at our airports.

Compared to The Deadly Tower, this was a very tame situation.

Conservatives need to bring up about the story of Charles Joseph Whitman (June 24, 1941 – August 1, 1966).

An autopsy revealed this former Marine sharpshooter had a necrotic brain tumor.

Mental health was the issue when Charles Whitman killed 16 people and wounded 32 others before getting himself killed.

That is almost 50 years ago that this happened in Texas.

In the case of Charles Whitman, he had sought help from a psychiatrist, but he only saw this doctor one time for two hours.

Mental health issues was the key issue at Sandy Point in New England.

Mental health issues appears to be the key issue in this case.

And mental health issues were true of the story of Charles Joseph Whitman, who was found to have a necrotic tumor.

The Looney Left, for some reason, tends to ignore mental health issues, and focuses on gun control. Maybe the Looney Left needs to be on medication by psychiatrists and psychologists.

“The Looney Left, for some reason, tends to ignore mental health issues”

They won’t for long! They will ask for a “full and deep psychological examination by a panel of certified physicians and psychiatrists” before you are allowed to get the forms to fill out your preliminary application to buy a firearm.

Perhaps an inpatient 48 hour observation period, with tests and exams, at your expense?

Sounds reasonable and commonsense, look at the lives it would have saved!

In the case of Charles Whitman, he was court marshaled while serving in the Marines. That might have been a Red Flag for a person like him today.

Additionally, tumors like the one Charles Whitman had might be detected at an early age.

In the case of this guy from Beaumont, there might have been red flags that were warnings.

It was decided about 60 years ago not to kept people who might be a danger to themselves or others in psychiatric wards, but release them and use medication to control them.

One would have to know more about the person yesterday from Beaumont.

You’re probably right. Seems like this story has gone quiet temporarily. But we know that the Obama admin never let’s a tragedy go to waste, so have to assume they are getting their story together for the weekend news shows....
