Unwieldy, yes, but not too big. Another post with a link has it as a pistol tho’, which does make more sense.

Easy. It’s in Texas.

Brings to an interesting story (about Texas).

A man had his daughter sexually assaulted.

The man tracked down the person who did it and killed him.

When the man went to trial (for killing the rapist), he used a Texas law that says Some People Just Need To Be Killed. as his defense.

He was acquitted/let go based on that defense: some people just need to be killed.

I guess this guy thought that he needed to kill himself...

Yeah but how do the reports go from an AR-15 to a pistol?

HOUSTON (FOX 26) -
A spokesman for the Houston Police Department reports that a firearm was discharged around 1:35 p.m. Thursday at Bush Intercontinental Airport.

A stringer with FOX 26 News says someone’s body was found in the lobby of Terminal B of the airport.

The elevator system was shut down in Terminal B.

A collapsible stock AR with a 16" barrel is 30 inches overall length or thereabouts.
The maximum carry on is 24"

I’m hearing that he walked up to the security checkpoint and fired the AR-15 into the air a couple of times. An air marshal fired at him and missed, then the perp pulled out another pistol and shot himself. Ambulance there, he may still be alive?

Hubby just left about an hour ago to help set up for the NRA convention. He does the check-in to inspect any guns that are brought in for the booths, etc. I’ve been telling him for the last couple of days to watch out for someone trying to disrupt the convention, that some anti-gun nut was going to try and make news.

It’s a good thing that the guy was the only one hurt. It should be interesting to find out about the guy’s background.

Usually, the talking heads on the local news can’t bring themselves to call it Bush Airport. Instead, I’ve noticed a trend where they all call it “the Big Airport”.

Today, I’m sure they’ll relish pointing it out as Bush Airport.

There’s no max size for luggage outside of security. I’ve seen some pretty big stuff, bigger than 24”, inside security too.

Probably in a Gun case. I walked into Oakland Intl. on my way to hunt in Texas, got to the Check in desk, told the gal I had a couple Guns, She said open the case and show her they were unloaded. When I picked the rifle up and opened the bolt, I could hear everyone behind me inhale (or gasp!) They did it again with the revolver, Although I did put a trigger lock on it just for the hell of it before hand. People looked at me like I had a third eye in my forehead.

At the other end in texas, every other piece of luggage going around the bag claim belt was a gun case.

Maybe it was under a trenchcoat. Don’t know, as I’m not there.

He wouldn’t have looked out of place today either. We had a cold front blow thru this am and it’s sitting right around 50 degrees right now. At least in Austin.
