Religious Groups Fear Christian Purge From Military
Townhall ^

Religious liberty groups have grave concerns after they learned the Pentagon is vetting its guide on religious tolerance with a group that compared Christian evangelism to “rape” and advocated that military personnel who proselytize should be court martialed.

Pentagon officials met to discuss a policy called “Air Force Culture, Air Force Standards,” published on Aug. 7, 2012.

Section 2.11 requires “government neutrality regarding religion.”

The Pentagon under the Obama Administration has acknowledged seizing and burning the privately owned Bibles of American soldiers serving in Afghanistan.

Anyone see a pattern?

If we only had a dedicated leader in Congress to take this fight head on. I mean they want to fight about God and morality, our religious freedoms; bring it on. The country needs a spiritual cleansing, Imo. Maybe, one day before it’s too late, that will happen.

“Christians should NOT cut and run.”

Every Christian should seek God’s will for their path in life. There isn’t a universal path for all.

The House Armed Services Committee need to call people in the upper echelon of the military to account IMMEDIATELY about this. If this policy is coming from the White House, as I feel supremely confident it is, it is time to light a fire under Obama that will not go out!!!!! Criminally outrageous and slanderous are words that come to mind, but somehow do not come close to the magnitude of the circumstances.

Meanwhile, Major Hasan still collects a military check and awaits a trial that should have taken place many months ago.

“Every Christian should leave and not join the Military.”

Actually, Christians and Jews should join the military and be prepared to resist when the time comes.

No sense in giving up that tactical position.

“Why would military leadership be meeting with one of the most rabid atheists in America to discuss religious freedom in the military. That’s like consulting with China on how to improve human rights.”

There ya go.

They think in a country as ours the military will be filled with non Christians.

Right. Homosexuals comprise 4% of the entire population. They’re going to take over the military?

Atheists are going to take over the military? With what motivation? God and Country? Defend one’s family?

Muslims are going to take over?

Hmm. Well, they do have a lot of money, and some are motivated to move in.

“This language from Weinstein that Christians who share their faith or offer comfort to others from their faith in Jesus Christ is “sedition and treason” is a treasonous statement in and of itself.”

This says exactly what I think. Weinstein should be prosecuted for “sedition and treason” because he is attempting to deny military personnel 1st Ammendment Rights. In essence, he is attempting to suppress the COTUS...and “overthrow” a COTUS protected environment and government. That is TREASON.

I am sick to my soul of atheists that seem to think the COTUS provides them with a “religon free” America....it does no such thing.

The ONLY time someone has a complaint coming regardling religion in the public forum is IF they are FORCED to be recruited into a religious belief system. There are some that take great offense if a service member expresses “thanks to God” in a talk....not anything forcing anyone to believe anything. Just the mere mention of God is considered offensive.

It is my contention that “lack of belief” is a religion in of itself. So, to force silence on Christian belief is to FORCE a “unbelief” belief on others....which is coercive.

Every Christian should leave and not join the Military.

No every Christian Soldier should consider it his spiritual and patriotic duty to proselytize everyone they meet on base or in the field. This policy cannot stand scrutiny. Christians have a moral duty to disobey this policy.

I don't think the powers that be have the guts to try to enforce this policy.

those evil, fundamentalist Christian creatures and their spiritual heirs have taken refuge behind flimsy, well-worn, gauze-like euphemistic facades such as “family values” and “religious liberty.”

I call on all Southern Baptist children to consider a stint in the military. It’s time to make it happen.

BHO may have said he was a Christian to get elected but clearly he is only a pawn of Satan and too many naive souls (including Christians) voted for him. Clearly he is on a mission to convert the nation to Islam and is using every tool at his disposal to get back at the Christian sector that sees him for what he is and won’t vote for him. He has declared war on patriots.

I am afraid you are right. I am glad I am already retired, and I told my son not to join either. These people could get so "programmed," that over a period of time, I could see where it might possibly be easy for them to fire on American civilians. Who knows for sure?
