Michael Bloomberg, New York City’s nanny mayor, slammed Detroit in a Tweet just after noon Tuesday heralding a record-low murder rate in the Big Apple. It the Tweet Bloomberg said, “Last year we had a record-low 419 murders.” But instead of thanking law enforcement or crediting New Yorkers he went on to insult Detroit. “If, instead, we had Detroit’s murder rate, 4,500+ New Yorkers would have been murdered last year,”

As I said the other day, I would rather live in Detroit where I have freedom to protect myself than live in Boomturd's concentration camp where I can be arrested for trying.

I always question how murder rates are compiled.

I know that Detroit counts all killings as murder even if they’re justified homicide. (Defensive killing) Detroit leads the nation in Justified Homicide. Detroit also tends to count surrounding suburbs as Detroit.

“murder rate” is a misnomer. it’s “homocide rate.” and there’s no such thing as “justified homocide” in nyc.
