Cuomo sells New York, and himself
NY Daily News ^ | april 23, 2013 | bill hammond

Gov. Cuomo’s nose must grow a little longer every time the state’s latest commercial message hits the airwaves — which is quite a lot recently.

“Welcome to the new New York State,” the voiceover intones, “where cutting taxes for families and businesses is our business.”

The spot, which is supposed to spark business investment, goes on to declare that Empire State companies have saved more than $2 billion through “reduced taxes and lowered costs.”

That middle-class tax rates have been cut “to the lowest rate in 60 years.”

That the state is creating “tax-free zones for business startups.”

And that the economy has “created tens of thousands of new businesses.”

None of these cherry-picked factual statements is false, exactly. But the overall message distorts economic reality badly enough to make Don Draper of “Mad Men” blush.

In fact, New York’s business tax climate ranks dead last among the 50 states, according to the latest analysis from the Tax Foundation.

In fact, a lot of the tax savings for business took the form of breaks targeted to a lucky few, which simply shift the burden to other taxpayers.

In fact, the middle-class tax rate cuts touted in the commercial resulted in token savings — worth maybe a few hundred dollars for most families.

In fact — regardless of how many businesses started up — the state’s job creation rate is even more sluggish than that of the country as a whole.

The inconvenient truth is that Cuomo’s latest budget makes the situation worse, not better. It modestly reduces some business taxes and calls for sending $350 “rebate” checks to taxpayers with young children shortly before next year’s election.

At the same time, however, Cuomo chose to prolong tax surcharges on utilities and high-income individuals that were supposed to expire

Is Andrew “Evil eyes” Cuomo on drugs? None of what he said is true here. Taxes are absolutely freakin’ insane in New York. Friends of mine pay $12,000 a year in property taxes just for a small house on Long Island. And that’s just property taxes and don’t even get me started on New York city, which besides having to deal with it being run under a despot, you constantly constantly have the city doing everything they can to steal every last cent from you. I moved out last year, I couldn’t take it anymore. I was working basically to support the city and in return I get this psychotic despotic midget dictating to me on almost every aspect of my life.

It’s unreal, they just absolutely BS the public and being that we no longer have a GOP but a RINO party, nobody calls them on it.

More accurate headline would be: Cuomo Sells New York Down the River

BTW, the first time I saw that NY commercial, I literally laughed outloud!

I learned last night via a nyc business man that NY City has a “new business tax” that any new business must pay in it’s first year.

“Bad tree=bad apple.”

Matthew 7:15-20

15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Cuomo is shacked up with his girlfriend, a governor setting a horrible example for the unwed mothers of his state. He rammed through homosexual marriage, and he eagerly taxes the so-called rich.

What a pitiful excuse for a man he is.

A family member moved to Fl this year, where we have no income tax, from NY. They earned a couple of thousand dollars on a w-2 in NYC. I told them I’d help them with their taxes.

I kid you not. The state return was 16 pages long, full of unintelligable figures, and after it was kicked back 3 times because the figures didn’t match, we just gave up. We spent weeks on it. It wasn’t just “dropping down zeroes” or easy calculations. We were multiplying numbers out to four figures and dividing them and whatnot. For a lousy 2K on a simple w-2. It was unbelievable.

She said, I am never, ever, ever, going to move back to NY again. And I’m certainly never going to earn any money there. Ever.

And just think, the Dems think we should ALL live like that.

Yes, she is a Food Channel reject. She admitted in an interview that she had a drug problem... bigtime... when she was younger. They probably both are on dope.
