What Will Happen When The Government Collapses?
The Western Center for Journalism ^ | Arpil 27, 2013 | Floyd Brown

Posted on 04/29/2013 9:11:55 AM PDT by Perseverando

Yesterday, my colleague, Marty Biancuzzo, explained why America is on a path to inevitable economic and government collapse.

After reading Marty’s piece, another colleague asked me: What will America look like after a government collapse?

It’s an important question, and I want to give a satisfactory answer. But I can’t do that in one short column, so I plan to return to this topic several times over the next few weeks. I hope that when I’m done, you will have a better understanding of where the country is headed.

Now, consider our current situation…

It’s clear that Barack Obama and Congress have no plan to get the dead-in-the-water economy moving. In fact, they appear to be completely incompetent.

Too many Americans are jobless, an excessive number of Americans are dependent on government handouts to eat, and the countless Americans who could contribute to the economic recovery are frozen in place, unwilling to take risks due to an uncertain regulatory environment.

Now, it’s fashionable in some governmental circles to argue that another Great Depression could never happen. Politicians reason that America at present has far more tools to prevent such a cataclysm.

They believe that “things are different this time.” If only they knew how right they were.

It Is Different This Time… It’s Worse

I’ve heard investment advisors, central bankers, and politicians use the phrase “It’s different this time” so often, I want to wretch. This asinine statement is arrogant beyond reason.

Frankly, I believe we’re much more vulnerable to a prolonged depression than we were in 1929.

Here’s the truth: Today’s monetary manipulation may forestall a bust, but it can’t change the fact that one is inevitable. And when it arrives, it’ll be more devastating and difficult to solve than in the past.

Martial law will be declared.

A military with a standing Army of less than 1 million is going to impose martial law on anything but a few major cites, maybe 3 cities at most.

Mexicans will take over my Phoenix neighborhood and break into my house and murder me.

Buy an AR-15 or Shotgun with #4 buck. Learn how to use it. Kill as many as you can before they kill others.

The Government per se will not collapse, it never does, it actually rises “stronger” out o* the ashes le*t *rom the
chaos it created. The worse the times, history proves, the more amenable are they to be manipulated by “strong-men leaders”. Think, in this country, in the last 100 years o*
*DR and his long-delayed successor, Barack Obama.
Government won’t collapse, but the economy will continue to
erode the potential o* our own well-being, the “validity” o*
the US Constitution, and leave us with precious *ewer possibilities 4 the pursuit o* happiness.

Martial law will be declared.

You need to update your terminology. Martial law has now been replaced with a request (demand) to Shelter in Place. (While armed officials search your place - without warrants - for the "bad guys".)

From Urban Dictionary:

“Gibs-Me-Dat” (Ebonics) (n.) Annuities, in the form of goods, services, or material (usually welfare checks) given predominately to blacks, in exchange for their tacit agreement to reciprocate by not burning down America’s cities.

Example:

“Yo Trayvon, who you be votin' fo' in 2012?”
“I gots to go wit Obama, baby. The democrats be givin out moe betta gibsmedat.”

Synonymous with: tribute, baksheesh, Danegeld, reparations

The author needs several weeks to explain what will happen? And we’re to take his advice?

A Must Read.

When The Music Stops – How America’s Cities May Explode In Violence
Western Rifle Shooters Association ^ | September 4, 2012 | Matt Bracken

In response to recent articles in mainstream military journals discussing the use of the U.S. Army to quell insurrections on American soil, I offer an alternate vision of the future. Instead of a small town in the South as the flash point, picture instead a score of U.S. cities in the thrall of riots greater than those experienced in Los Angeles in 1965 (Watts), multiple cities in 1968 (MLK assassination), and Los Angeles again in 1992 (Rodney King). New Yorkers can imagine the 1977 blackout looting or the 1991 Crown Heights disturbance. In fact, the proximate spark of the next round of major riots in America could be any from a long list cribbed from our history.

We have seen them all before, and we shall see them all again as history rhymes along regardless of the century or the generation of humankind nominally in control of events. But the next time we are visited by widespread, large-scale urban riots, a dangerous new escalation may be triggered by a new vulnerability: It’s estimated that the average American home has less than two weeks of food on hand. In poor minority areas, it may be much less. What if a cascading economic crisis, even a temporary one, leads to millions of EBT (electronic benefit transfer) cards flashing nothing but zeroes? Or if the government’s refusal to reimburse them causes supermarket chains to stop accepting them for payment? The government can order the supermarkets to honor the cards, but history’s verdict is clear: If suppliers are paid only with worthless scrip or blinking digits, the food will stop.

STEP ONE: FLASH MOB LOOTING

In my scenario, the initial riots begin spontaneously across affected urban areas, as SNAP (supplemental nutrition assistance program) and other government welfare recipients learn that their EBT cards no longer function. This sudden revelation will cause widespread anger, which will quickly lead to the flash-mob looting of local supermarkets and other businesses. The media will initially portray these “food riots” as at least partly justifiable. Sadly, millions of Americans have been made largely, or even entirely, dependent on government wealth transfer payments to put food on their tables.

READ THE FOLLOWING EXCERPT FROM THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE - WHO DOES THIS SOUND LIKE?

* He has refused his assent to laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

* He has made judges dependent on his will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.

* He has erected a multitude of new offices, and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance.

* He {intends to keep} among us, in times of peace, standing armies without the consent of our legislature.

* He {intends to render} the military independent of and superior to civil power.

* He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our Constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws...

* For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent...

* For depriving us in many {future} cases, of the benefits of trial by jury...

* For ... abolishing our most valuable Laws and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:

* He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavored to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless ... savages, whose known rule of warfare, is undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.

* In every stage of these oppressions we have petitioned for redress in the most humble terms: our repeated petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.

* Nor have We been wanting in attentions to our ... brethren. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have reminded them of the circumstances of our emigration and settlement here. We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which, would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They too have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity.

Off the top of my head I'm not aware of a major government collapsing absent actual invasion and conquest.

USSR is one recent example. It no longer exists, new governments were set up to replace it.

BRAVO!!!

Hopefully, we can create islands of stability by encouraging the civil society in red states. However, this will require the passage of state laws that discourage Leftist migration from the blue states. Promote laws that restrict welfare benefits, uphold gun rights, family values, ban/restrict abortion in addition to advancing free-market policies

We’ve GOT to start saying this over and over!!! You are so right. We’ve got to go back to NOT BEING ASHAMED TO LEGISLATE CHRISTIAN VALUES!!!!!! And stop cowering behind the fear that someone will call us names or think we aren’t “modern” or whatever. ALL laws are a legislation of SOMEONE’s morality (whether a liberal Californian thinks it should be illegal to kill a spotted golden swampbutterfly, or whether a Christian community thinks it should be illegal to kill a human baby.) If we are not ashamed of Christ, especially in our allegiance and our laws, I truly believe God will protect us. I’m praying that our men in all conservative states and areas of the country will see the depravity and anarchy as the time to turn back to God in our laws and education. We conservative women will be behind them, supporting and praying for them 100%!!!

They will be met by a hail of gunfire from my house in Tempe

And they'll die of thirst before they ever reach my house in Scottsdale. :)

I think the one certainty is that the central bankers' puppet government has no intention of collapsing, regardless of what happens to the economy or to us producers.

If it starts head North.

Avoid St Louis and Chicago.

Continue until you get here.

The Canadians might invade but the worst that will happen is that they will make you eat gravy on your French fries.

Yup.

The Govt.,far from collapsing, will exponentially explode. It`ll be just the opportunity the Statists, both Democrat and Republican, have been waiting for.

What will precipitate the collapse will be a tyrannical government or even a dictatorship. I could see large numbers of states leaving the union and forming their own countries. I do not believe that the US military will follow orders to fire on American citizens so there will not be a civil war, just a collapse of the union.
