It is time for a dishwasher. My last dishwasher was replaced three times by the manufacturer before I ripped it out and started handwashing. time to go back to dishwashers and I cannot find a timed dishwasher, just ones that are ENERGY EFFIEICENT with sensors.
The biggest problem I had with the newer untimed dishwashers is that I would have to rinse the dishes instead of scraping them.
the second problem is that because I did not rinse them, they ran for six to eight hours becaus there was debris that the sensors picked up.
Lousy design.
I am looking for a good dishwasher, that can actually be effective and clean the dishes now that the EPA doesnt permit us to have phosphates. Or timed washes.
Any war stories? Most of the dishwasher reviews out there aree actually paid ad reviews placed by an agent of the manufacturer.
Forget consomer reports.
I live in what some have called a rain forest. Don’t liberals clean their toilets, or do they have illegal aliens to do that for them? Or maybe they just never clean them...but I think it’s funny that I have an ipad and all this technology but I have to flush my toilets with a shower hose because they only flush a cup of water at a time.

We purchased a Bosch dishwasher and it has timed cycles. Yes it was a little more expensive but it is not only the quietest dishwasher we have owned, we do not have to rinse the dishes. The interior of ours is stainless steel.
We have put casserole dishes in there with baked on mac & cheese and had them come out spotless.

Yes, lack of trisodium phosphate broke our last dishwasher. We didn’t realize it at the time. We also had to have a plumber repeatedly come in and clean out the drain pipes.
The problem is that real trisodium phosphate is hard to find. Some of the stuff that calls itself TSP is fake sodium phosphate. As you say, you need to check the box.
The whole business is truly stupid. Here in Vermont, we have our own well water, and our woods and pasture are almost always too wet. I don’t know why we should be forced to use less water because they’re running short in Arizona.

I replaced our old dead Kenmore with a new Kenmore and promptly took it back the same day. I could have spit on the dishes and got them cleaner. It leaked too.
No issues with the Bosch. The little packets and rinse aid do well and we always use pots and pans mode because we don’t clean the dishes before we clean the dishes.
We have toddlers and have put artifacts in the dishwasher that could be classified as HAZMAT and they all come out just fine. A touch of bleach doesn’t hurt.
EPA and lawyers ruin things. My “Lawyer Toaster” takes forever to toast anything as the heat need to be so low so as not to cause any harm to fools. But, as we know, you cannot make anything foolproof as fools are so ingenius.

When my house was built I had the cabinet maker make the floor cabinet next to the sink removable and had the plumber and electrician put in the necessary stuff for a dishwasher.
I wash all my dishes by hand and let them air dry in a dish drainer. Lots more efficient than a dishwasher.
When, in the future, someone else owns this house, all they need to do is buy and install the dishwasher. I tried to make it as painless as possible.
The took the tri-sodium-phosphates out of dishwashing soap years ago. You can’t get spot free clean dishes now.
Yes I have been washing dishes for a number of years. Time to change. Situation at home has changed.

LOL that’s pretty much what we do and we double the amount of cleaner that we used to put in.
Yeah, there’s several knock-off brands of TSP that really aren’t Trisodium Phosphate.
Our local Lowes Hardware store carries the good stuff—pure Trisodium Phosphate. It’s made by the Savogran Company.

You might give them a call tomorrow and see if they can point you to a distributor in your area.
We use slightly less than one tablespoon per load of dishes. You might need less, or more, depending on your water’s hardness.

My well pumps 50 gallons a minute. I have no water saving incentive.
Once I made an EPA fool’s head pop by discussing diaper washing with him. I tracked the bastard down who regulated washing machines. Yes there is at least one fool in Washington who regulates washingmachines. I bet there is a bigger fool regulating dishwashers.

I do a couple of loads a day, because I cook with some intensity, and love to use lots of pots and colanders. I love to cook and often cook elaborately and fill a dishwasher quickly. I also do a lot of half loads, which I do defiantly. It suits my convenience to do a lot of loads, and Bosch's seem to be cool with that.
One thing I have to do is fill that "agent" tray often, which seems to really help.
Also the Bosch is very quiet! Makes time in the kitchen more pleasant.
My present model has a quick wash, only 36 minutes, which is very handy and is almost as good as the other washes. If you have lightly messy dishes by all means use the quick wash. I also like the hygenic wash.
So I'd recommend being sure to get the one with the quick wash. I suspect that this wash uses a lot of water and energy so you can grin and curse Al the Tyrant. So far I don't have to use a shower hose to clean my dishes.
