If a male lion or even a monkey kills the progeny of another male he’s doing it so that his own offspring will take their place. (Just as little children are often the victims of the mother’s boyfriend, who isn’t the father, btw.)
I can’t think of any animal parents, where both the male and female kill their own offspring.
