USDA Flyer: We Don't Check Immigration Status for Food Stamps
Big Government ^ | 4/26/2013 | Tony Lee

Posted on 04/26/2013 6:36:42 PM PDT by markomalley

A government watchdog group has discovered that the United States government is advising Spanish-speaking residents that they need not declare their immigration status to qualify for food stamps.

Judicial Watch obtained the Spanish-language flyers through a Freedom of Information Act request and announced on Thursday that the "promotion of the food stamp program, now known as 'SNAP' (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), includes a Spanish-language flyer provided to the Mexican Embassy by the USDA.

A statement on the flyer—emphasized in bold and underlined—reads, “You need not divulge information regarding your immigration status in seeking this benefit for your children.”

Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton said of this discovery, the "USDA is actively working with the Mexican government to promote food stamps for illegal aliens." This implication, he asserted, "should have a direct impact on the fate of the immigration bill now being debated in Congress."

Yes. It is a shame. Made even more so because our elected officials sit on their asses and don’t seem to be the least bit concerned about this.

We may have to do this ourselves, something I don’t look forward to.

They just discovered this? LOL. Some watchdog.

Right, because this administration is so TRANSPARENT that anyone trying to uncover this kind of fraud just has to politely ask.

Thank heaven for Judicial Watch.

Grocery chains probably support this nonsense, too.

I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for Bonehead to open up investigational committees on this, and other program fraud.

Well swing by one when you have a few free minutes!

Wear an ICE,DHS or IRS hat, if you need to partially clear the lobby to get a seat.

(Maybe then a few of the people who really do need temporary help, as the “program” was supposedly originally designed to provide, will actually get it that day!)

If nothing else, you can observe some employees of “the government” in action.
While observing them, bear in mind that they depend on a large client base to retain their jobs...

Riding the US gravy train---using multiple identities. Boston bomber Tamelan's reading list on Amazon (below) included several books on forging multiple idetities.....a very common practice in latino circles. The latino Washington state rapist had some 30 identities. Another "impoverished" latino pocketed over $3 MILLION from UI using multiple identities.

REFERENCE----NJ BERGEN RECORD CIRCA 2004---Pelcastre brothers, Angel and Jorge, Dallas, Texas, were a walking threat to US national security, expert document forgers who, for a few thousand dollars, could give anyone a new identity (many latinos establish multiple identities in order to ride the US gravy train).

The Texas brothers were a "one-stop shop" for a myriad of fake US documents, including birth certificates, Social Security cards, driver's licenses----for any state in the US------ passports and resident alien cards, said NJ state police.

The Texas brothers turned a NJ hotel room into a business office and were readying a massive cache of fake Social Security cards for delivery to a local NJ identity broker. Officers happened upon two cars bearing Texas plates in a NJ hotel parking lot.

The Texas brothers were followed to a NJ office supply store nearby where they purchased computer supplies. Officers then followed the Texans to a NJ storage facility in Secaucus, NJ, where the Texans loaded several boxes into a car. One of them stood lookout. After a search, police recovered laminating sheets with built-in security features, pages of blank documents waiting for fake names and information, finished documents, computers and software to create the fake IDs.

All told, the haul was worth about $500,000 on the street when sold to "impoverished illegals." Police also recovered $6,000 in cash, which was the first payment from a NJ fake document broker for a shipment of 500 phony Social Security cards. ####

ALSO RIDING THE US GRAVY TRAIN:

NY POST EXCERPT--- Mexican cartels dispatch agents deep inside US - spread into non-border states CHICAGO (AP) — Mexican drug cartels whose operatives once rarely ventured beyond the US border are dispatching some of their most trusted agents to live and work deep inside the United States — an emboldened presence that experts believe is meant to tighten their grip on the world's most lucrative narcotics market and maximize profits. If left unchecked, authorities say, the cartels' move into the American interior could render the syndicates harder than ever to dislodge and pave the way for them to expand into other criminal enterprises such as prostitution, kidnapping-and-extortion rackets and money laundering.

In Mexico, the cartels are known for a staggering number of killings — more than 50,000, according to one tally. Beheadings are sometimes a signature. So far, cartels don't appear to be directly responsible for large numbers of slayings in the United States, though the Texas Department of Public Safety reported 22 killings and five kidnappings in Texas at the hands of Mexican cartels from 2010 through mid- 2011. Still, police worry that increased cartel activity could fuel heightened violence.--SNIP--

In Chicago, the police commander who oversees narcotics investigations, James O'Grady, said street-gang disputes over turf account for most of the city's uptick in murders last year, when slayings topped 500 for the first time since 2008.

Although the cartels aren't dictating the territorial wars, they are the source of drugs. Riley's assessment is stark: He argues that the cartels should be seen as an underlying cause of Chicago's disturbingly high murder rate. "They are the puppeteers," he said. "Maybe the shooter didn't know and maybe the victim didn't know that. But if you follow it down the line, the cartels are ultimately responsible."

BLOOD-CURDLING LA RAZA STUDIES: These shocking quotes are taken directly from A LA Raza textbook "Occupied America" (pg. 167): “Supporters would execute all white males over age 16,” (also known as the Plan of San Diego). LA Raza school textbook chapter from “Occupied America,” by Rodolfo Acuña, includes a speech given by university professor Jose Angel Gutierrez: “We have got to eliminate the gringo, and if worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him,” (pg. 323).

La Raza books also talk about the need for the govt of Mexico to re-take seven states in SW United States. so that the Southwest USA would become a Chicano nation. And judging by Ramos' activities---La Raza is establishing a beachhead in NJ.

YOU ARE PAYING FOR THIS In 2005 alone, $7.9 million in taxpayer funding was given to "La Raza charter schools" via the US Dept of Education grants. These charter schools stress Latino culture, the Spanish language, the re-conquest of the American Southwest, the establishment of the mythical Atzlan on US soil, and even Aztec math.

In addition to using taxpayer funds to enforce the teaching of murdering Americans and latino violence, the federally-funded La Raza organization operates 100 charter schools across America.

I have been pounding this unreported fact at Free Republic for the last year!

I knew Washington state did not require documentation for legal status, and I presumed that was true nationally.

Also in Washington state:

(1) No legal status required to get federal heating assistance.

(2) Ditto for federal and state rent subsidies.

(3) Ditto for Unemployment payments, which are part federal, and ditto for Emergency Unemployment Extensions, which are totally federal.

(4) Ditto for Earned Income Tax Credits.

(5) Ditto for pregnant women and children getting Medicaid, no legal status required.

No one has talked about this!

According to Rubio, Amnesty Immigrants will get no welfare for 10 years.

BULL!

They get these payments NOW when they are ILLEGAL!

NTL REVIEW/DAVID HANSON----The Tsarnaev brothers have offered us a teachable moment about what have become near-suicidal US immigration policies. Unless the government can assure the public that it is now enforcing immigration laws already on the books,

(1) that foreign nationals must at least avoid crime and stay off public assistance, and,

(2) that it is disinclined to grant "asylum" (free ride on the US gravy train) to “fearful refugees” from war-torn Islamic regions and then foot the bill for them to go back and forth between America and their supposedly hostile homelands on the taxpayers' dime,

.....there will be little support for the current immigration bill.

Since the Food Stamp program began under Lyndon Johnson in the 1960s, the Obama administration, IIRC, is the first to have the gall to openly advertise it to potential recipients over the airwaves and in print, in English and Spanish and who knows what other languages, and even in Mexico. Furthermore, government workers who sign up new Food Stamp recipients (very little vetting for eligibility) are given bonuses! All this at a time when government deficits and debt are at all-time high levels!

The only conclusion to be drawn is that Big Brother's goal is to expand the government gravy train at the expense of the economic future of the country as a whole. This mentality is not motivated by compassion but by sinister raw politics; it is completely irresponsible and evil!!!

____________
Sadly, The Bush Admin. set a lot of bad precedent for Obama to follow.

[snip]Both the Spanish-language ad campaign and the U.S.-Mexico partnership were launched under the George W. Bush administration. The partnership dates back to 2004 — it was signed between then-Agriculture Secretary Ann Veneman and Mexico’s foreign affairs secretary at the time. The USDA says on its website that it is meant to “educate eligible Mexican nationals living in the United States about available nutrition assistance.” To do that, Mexico distributes materials through its embassy and 50 consular offices.

The article does point out that Sen. Jeff Sessions is the only one complaining about this.

[snip]In his letter, he claimed the USDA has not responded to earlier requests for information about the U.S.-Mexico partnership and asked for a response “without delay.” He asked whether the Mexican government was distributing materials on the U.S. program in its own borders, and asked for copies of the literature.

“It is a sound principle of immigration policy that those who come to America be able to take care of themselves financially,” he wrote. “This ‘partnership’ and related consulate activity appears to assume that principle is no longer in effect.”

He said the “compassionate policy” would be to help move people “from welfare to gainful employment” rather than “pressuring” them onto food stamps.

I wish that were true. When I was a career counselor at the unemployment office, Income Maintenance Workers (usually known as “social workers” to the welfare recipients) had a quota and had to recruit people into their programs any way they could. That was during the Bush 41 and Clinton administrations.

Were you a federal or a state employee? As a "career counselor," wasn't your job to get people off these people into the workforce and off Food Stamps, etc.?

As for the "Income Maintenance Workers," did their pay increase with the number of enrollees into Food Stamps? Did that perverse incentive cause them to be lax in applying the standards to qualify for the Food Stamps?

According to Mark Levin on his radio show, at least part of the explosion of Food Stamps recipients under the Obama Administration has been due a more proactive promotion of the program and federal employees whose incomes depend on the number of new people they enroll. That system provides an incentive opposite to a salesman's commission in the private sector: the more they cost their (federal government) employer, the more income they earn.

I was a state employee in a federally funded position. About 35% of my tenure there was spent teaching job-seeking classes to AFDC (now called TANF) and food stamp recipients and 65% was helping veterans find work or entrepreneurial opportunities. Guess which one I enjoyed more? And yes, my job was to get them off welfare. What do you think that was like?

Liz, here is our “teachable moment”....

” Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano declared that she, President Barack Obama and other political officials at the top of this administration have the authority to decide which laws to enforce, and which ones to ignore.”
