The Lebanese Armed Forces and UNIFIL troops have increased their observation activities on the Israel-Lebanon border, the official Lebanese National News Agency reported on Friday.

The increased activity came a day after the Israel Air Force shot down a drone that flew south from Lebanon over the Mediterranean Sea about eight kilometers off the coast of Haifa. Hezbollah, who had a drone shot down by the IAF in the Negev in October, denied having sent an unmanned aerial vehicle to Israel on Thursday.

According to Friday's Lebanese report, IDF troops along the Lebanese border were on high alert.

The report added that IAF jets and helicopters had been witnessed flying over towns in southern Lebanon on Friday.

On Thursday, IDF air defenses picked up the drone shortly after 1 p.m., and F-16 fighter aircraft and combat helicopters scrambled to intercept it. .......

Great. Not only do the Israelis have to deal with the radical wing of the muslim crowd, now they have to deal with some lesbians on the border. It just never stops does it.

Syria assumed control over Lebanon years ago, and they are a puppet regime of Iran.

Lebanon HAS an army????

Yes, it's Syrian supported by Iran.

Just like in Afghanistan and Iraq, it's Iran that is fighting us/peace/Israel

Hezbollah and Hamas both created by the Muslim Brotherhood to which Obama's #1 advisor, Valerie Jarrett belongs as a top member and who pulls the jihadist Islamic terrorist strings in Obama's muslim (Islamic rule punishable by death if broken: once a muslim always a muslim, Obama officially a muslim according to school records in Indonesia) soul.

I won't say more about Jarrett's obligation to Islam concerning Obama's fate, it will play out eventually as soon as his stint using/employing Taqiyya/Kitman/makara is over and he is of no use anymore to his Islamic terrorist benefactors.

So it’s not really a “Lebanese” army as much as it is a collection of foreign moslem militias.

Is there even a “Lebanese” identity anymore? And if so, why aren’t they kicking the Syrians out....

“..that you are capable of going it alone!!..”

Israel has been on their own for most of their history.
They are Very capable.

They used to have an Ally in the West.

I fear for their safety (in today’s climate)

The number of Christians in Lebanon has been disputed for many years. There has been no official census in Lebanon since 1932. But official records confirm that in 1926 when the state of Lebanon was officially announced and recognized by the allies the Christians formed 84% of the population. Many argue over the percentage and population of Christians in Lebanon. One estimate of the Christian share of Lebanon's population as of the late 2000s is 39%. The country has the largest percentage of Christians of all the Middle Eastern nations.

As time goes, there will be less. You can see the "Plan".

I guess my question is aimed more from the perspective of nationalist “Lebanese” rather than Christians versus moslems.

Is there no collective “Lebanese” outrage that “Syrians” are occupying them?

Or are they all just completely interchangeable, replaceable moslems now, completely fine with foreign forces on their territory?

I don't think so unless it is Hamas and Hezbollah.

It looks like it is a collection of foreign moslem militias.

The Arabs and the Iranians want Israel annihilated period.

So they have all banded together in order to eventually be completely destroyed by God. They are begging Him to unleash his fury on them. And I don't mean the car!

Of course the Arab map doesn't have Israel on it:

LOL you gots a handle on it NFHale!

Islam’s goal is to take over the world and kill everyone who disagrees with that.

Israel, who occupies a very small portion of the land “given” (actually it belongs to God and he decided to let Israel occupy it. I think He did it that way so that anyone that comes against Israel is actually fighting God) to them by God, will NOT be forced out.

When God makes a covenant, it cannot be broken.

Somebody want to ask the Israelis why they didn’t first check for weapons then follow the drone back home? You know they know where the robot came from but I’m waiting for the rest of the story. There will surely be an Israeli hit on a launch site. I’m betting the Israelis will perfect a method to capture drones then send them back home with a weapon of their own. It’s one of the best ways to combat dumbasses——make them distrust their own weapons. Worked pretty good in Veetnam when we were salting the ammo dumps with defective rounds.

That’s quite a lot of misinformation you are spouting there. The Lebanese army is definately not pro-Syrian or Iranian. The Generals in the Lebanese army are Christian. They’re not friendly with Hezbollah but they can’t very well be enemies either because in reality Hezbollah is more powerful and has more experience in combat situations.
This is the same army that invited the Israeli commanders on the ground to have coffee while Israel invaded in 2006 trying to eliminate Hezbollah.

The tricky thing about Lebanon is that its practically a third Christian, a third Shiite and a third Sunni. It also has about 25% of the population as Syrian illegal workers and Palestinian “refugees”. The Sunni are your typical extremist, that would kill Christians when they get the chance(ala lebanese civil war when they joined with palestinians in fighting the Christians). The Shiites, believe it or not, actually never fought or massacred the Christians, on the contrary they were fighting the palestinians in the civil war prior to the wave of iranian influence. They also were a large part of the South Lebanese Army which was Christian and Shiite group who allied with Israel and along with Israel guarded the buffer zone between Lebanon and Israel prior to the pullout in 2000.(They were also granted asylum in Israel but I believe the majority were able to safely return to Lebanon)

Lebanese politics is very complicated, and reads much like a novel with parties backstabbing each other constantly and backdoor deals with multiple nations.
The Lebanese army is on the border, not to fight, but to stop Hezbollah from approaching the border and starting something.
This is a non story and there would not be any act of aggression from either side. If the Lebanese army were so pro syria they would not have sat by and watched the israelis enter lebanon to take out hezbollah in 2006, and would not have made a public spectacle of having drinks with commanders in the field. Israel also knows this and thats why in the 2006 war they did not bomb lebanese army positions, nor did they bomb christian or druze areas or even sunni areas. They bombed Shiite hezbollah areas.

In any case, Syria of Assad is by far a better enemy to have than a Muslim brotherhood Syria. There is no doubt in my mind. Better for Syrian Christians, Lebanese Christians, Israel and any other minority living in the middle east.

The bottom line is that we should all butt out of syria and let bashar and the foreign terrorists take each other out and hopefully a weak bashar remains in power. All these articles about interfering in syria really bother me. We have nothing to gain, we should play this situation like iran and iraq in the 80s. Let both sides screw each other. I realize that Syrian christians would get caught in the crossfire, but saying this as a Christian of middle eastern origin, they are better off immigrating to the west and integrating into a society that will protect their religious beliefs. A society where one does not have to worry about extremists threatening the lives of their children, or worry that their children even have a future being surrounded by muslims.

But yes, there is no doubt in my mind that Obama is a secret muslim. His actions in supporting extremists take power in the middle east is more than enough evidence to support that notion.

Thank you for your very informative post and setting me straight on some things I posted from memory (faulty it seems) that were incorrect.

I knew about the amount of Christians in Lebanon, and am sorry that it has dropped so much lately.

It would be great if God raised a bunch of them up to take over the country.

I think it may very well be geographically part of the covenant land given to Israel.

Many of the Southern Lebanese Army that fled to Israel in the 1980’s, but later returned to Lebanon under an amnesty, were KILLED.

Check out old news stories if you can find any. Very well covered up mass killings. The Hezbollah coalition didn’t take many prisoners.

I don’t understand why Israel wasted an expensive missile on a piece of flying garbage when a few well placed bullets would have done the job, and possibly brought the drone down in good enough shape to salvage?

I’ve got to make a phone call to someone over there to set them straight about cost-effective military strategy. You save a few shekels here, a few shekels there, and soon you have enough shekels to buy make or buy some really good stuff.

I’m a napalm fan, myself, singing “Smoke from a Distant Fire” (Sanford Townsend Band).
