CALLING ALL PATRIOTS Join Fellow Conservatives at 15th Annual White House Correspondents Association Dinner Protest
Long before Code Pink came on the scene, the D.C. Chapter of FreeRepublic.com was demonstrating everywhere in D.C.the White House, the Capitol and Walter Reed Army Medical Center to name just a few locales where you could see the conservative Internet warriors in action.
Since 1999, the FReepers, as they are known, have held forth across the street from the Hilton Washington to protest liberal media bias face to face with attendees of the annual White House Correspondents Association Dinner.

This Saturday will mark the 15th anniversary of the FReepers annual protest. Over the years, the group has debated Al Franken, tangled with Chris Matthews, been filmed by Drew Barrymore, cheered on by Christopher Hitchens and has jeered countless liberal politicians, media personalities and executives.
Matt Drudge would stop by and talk with the FReepers in the early years when he attended the dinner. In 2000, he literally took a protest shirt off a FReepers back and snuck it into the dinner where he boldly stood in front of then President Bill Clinton while wearing the shirt emblazoned with the famous Alan Diaz photo of Cuban boy Elian Gonzalez being taken at gunpoint in Miami by the Clinton administration.
At the 2003 Correspondents Dinner protest, the FReepers presented the Garafalo Awards, named for left wing actress Janeane Garafalo. The prize was a crow mounted on a plate and was awarded to media and public figures who had to eat crow after their shrieks of immediate disaster over the liberation of Iraq failed to come true. The awarding of the Garafalos was featured on Fox & Friends.
In 2004, actress Drew Barrymore interviewed the FReepers for her election year documentary, Choose or Lose: The Best Place to Start (they didnt make the final cut, though.)

Costumes and props have played a prominent role in the protests of the dinner. Minnie Mouse, Boris Badanov, Russert the Rat and Crybaby (David) Gregory among others have been seen mocking the self-congratulatory media elite.
Signs featured at the protest have included, Losing share? Try the truth; Former Washington Post reporter, will lie for food; Raoul's first law of journalism: Bias equals layoffs and Breitbart is here, a tribute to the late conservative bête noir of the media.
To demonstrate media bias, the 2006 dinner protest featured a pop quiz for the media. A sign with the names and photos of Cindy Sheehan and Sergeant First Class Paul Smith was displayed while the question was asked of reporters entering the dinner, Why are these two people notable. Anyone who answered correctly for both names won a Starbucks gift card. As it turned out, everyone knew who the President George W. Bush-hating, Gold Star mother Cindy Sheehan was. Only one reporter, Foxs Bret Baier, knew that SFC Paul Smith was the first service member awarded the Medal of Honor in the war on terror. Only one.
The media landscape has changed dramatically since 1999. Conservatives have fought valiantly to hold the liberal media accountable and counter their power of narrative-setting. Next Saturday will mark one more battle in the drawn-out war for the soul of America.

http://thehill.com/blogs/in-the-know/in-the-know/294475-party-pros-mood-for-this-years-white-house-dinner-not-as-festive
Mood for this years White House dinner not as festive (ue to Mrs O's Oscar bomb?) The White House Correspondents Association dinner considered DC's glitziest and most buzzworthy event appears to be a bit more low-key this year...absent some of Hollywoods brightest stars.
The Hollywood Reporter last year held star-studded affair with Google at the W Hotel, is also ducking out. A publicist tells us, we arent doing anything this year. I dont know if its toned down or not, Hollywood on the Potomac editor Janet Donovan said of the mood in town, but it feels that way. Donovan pointed to the lack of Anthony Weiner-sized headlines as a possible reason, saying that perhaps we dont really have a huge five minutes of fame scandal-type this year.
One veteran party planner says it could be the nations capital is suffering from presidential inauguration fatigue: Fox News Channels Greta Van Susteren, who has brought head-turning guests such as Lindsay Lohan and Kim Kardashian to prior dinners, says shes taking a pass. Van Susteren blogged she made another commitment: . it is the one day of the year that media, politicians, entertainers etc. socialize together but the 2 1/2 day affair can be a bit exhausting.
Others say political conventions and inaugural coverage broke the bank for many news organizations around town, allowing for fewer resources for the glam event.
Supposedly Nicole Kidman, Jessica Alba and George Lucas are confirmed to attend as guests of various media companies a party planner says many celebs feel theyve done the whole D.C. thing already: If you look at the list of celebrities that have been here or attended since [President Obama has] been president, its like looking at an Academy Awards event. When theyve been here once, they think theyve checked the box.
=====================================
Mrs O was roundly criticized for her scary appearance at the Oscars---the star buzz is that those in the seats heaved a collective groan when she appeared. Post-Oscar stories left her out of the reports centered on red carpet apparel---one star's dress was designed by the same designer as Mrs O's dress. But reports ommitted any mention of her or her dress. Obaba was roundly booed at a game he attended in DC. Not a scattered few boos, it was quite vocal and noticeable.
LOYAL DEMOCRAT DONNY DEUTSCH WEIGHED IN ON MRS O'S OSCAR BOMB: "As far as I'm concerned, she was an uninvited guest. Now what I mean by that is (as an advert guru), you have to give the consumer, the viewer, the ultimate respect. They tuned in to watch movie stars, to watch movies. And all of a sudden, politics is thrown at them."
"If I want to watch her on Jimmy Fallon, that's okay. But, (the Awards)---that was an intrusion, and I have a feeling that three out of four Americans -- Democrat or Republican -- don't want to see the First ady (there). I think you have to respect your audience enough to not impose her, that's not a moment we're looking for there---the President or the First Lady," Deutsch said on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight."
DONNY CONTINUED: "....the tone of it, it was almost a monarch quality.....an elitist flavor....(replete w/ uniformed military guards). I was watching and going, 'huh?' and I'm a Democrat," Deutsch told host Piers Morgan. "I just thought it was very very tone deaf and I was really surprised they did it," Deutsch concluded.

If this keeps up, pretty soon the self-serving O's will be depicted as the new Juan and Evita (/snix).
One could even say Ohaha's using the "Argentina Strategy." He and his wife see themselves with unlimited power---employing military strongmen to keep the we, the rabble in check---while duping the citizenry into thinking they are "humanitarians.
SOUND FAMILIAR? The Perons bankrupted Argentina, took savage, total power by confiscating money from the rich-----and letting Evita bestow the money on the poor, in numerous well-publicized "acts of charity." Evita traveled around in luxurious designer fashions, furs and lavish jewels; she was infatuated w/ Hollywood.
Reigning movie queen Lana Turner saw Evita adopt her look and hair styles---and was alarmed when her jewelry was confiscated so that Evita could get it copied.
Course, I may be a bit cynical (cackle)......but Hollywood coming down hard on Michele's scary Oscar visibility could be reason Obama might be considering ordering the dreaded drones and DHS tanks to roll over Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive, Malibu, and like environs.
Have a great time and give 'em hell for us! Looking forward to your after-action report...
BTTT FReep On!
