Congress is onto something. Recognizing that support for Obamacare could precipitously collapse if our nation’s legislators and their staffers have to live by the law, Congress has moved to exempt itself from the exchanges. So far, so good, yet the problem runs deeper. Grassroots Democrats are likely to rebel as well once they face the exchanges.
The obvious solution is to exempt registered Democrats from Obamacare. That means support for the new law stays strong, and builds a huge registration edge for the Democrats to boot.
What’s in it for Republicans? Obviously, with so many Americans exempt from the law, the tax burden Republicans rightly worry about will be substantially eased. Everybody wins!
Legislators can’t live by the law it’s why they do what they do.
Cook county is spreading at an alarming rate.
Ran into my ex Blue Dog congressman in December.
Asked him if he had to do Obamacare or was he and his family
exempt. Seeing him start to be defensive, he said he was an ex gubmint employee and in the gubmint employee healthcare.
I said I have no problem about whether you earned it or not,
my concern is that he and his family will have a Rolls Royce healthcare while the rest of us serfs will have the lousy
Obamacare one.
Real easy to tell others to tough it when you don’t have to.
Make all these pols do what we have to.
They live in above the rest world.
