It is reported that two of the suspects in the Boston marathon bombing were in possession of 2 handguns and an “M4 carbine” and yet they were both residents of Massachusetts, a state with some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country. On top of that we can look to the laws that Massachusetts legislators have imposed upon its citizens and see how difficult it is for law abiding citizens in Massachusetts to legally obtain firearms. Now if you are a liberal or some other form of Socialist, Communist or Utopian you would think this makes the state safer. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, it became quite apparent this week that you don’t have to have a gun in Massachusetts to be deadly and even those who are suspected of using bombs had firearms and neither of the Tsarvaev brothers had a state issued license to purchase a firearm, yet they had them because, well that’s what criminals do; they break the law.
However, Mike Sweeney at the Daily Caller exposes four facts about gun laws in Massachusetts and how they applied to the bombing suspects, Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev. He writes:
Fact 1. Neither of the Tsarnaev brothers was legally able to be in possession of the firearms used during the shootouts and following attempted escape.
Fact 2. The “M4 carbine” that they were allegedly in possession of is illegal to possess in Massachusetts. IF, and this is a big IF this was a newly manufactured Colt M4 carbine as the NYT reports, and it wasn’t modified after leaving the factory, it would be classified an “Assault Weapon” by the state of MA C. 140: S. 121 applies to the definition and C. 140: S. 131M applies to the possession.

A great headline if there ever was one. It’s a complete story compressed into one line.
That was my initial reaction last Monday. Ha ha Boston bombs and disarmed citizenry. This could have been much different in FL or TX where almost 1 in 10 citizens carry religiously.
Agreed. One headline you’re never going to see:
Thanks to gun control there were no murders in Chicago (Or Boston or New York) today.
It is premature to say they had an m4. Facts are pretty flexible so far.
It turns out that suspect 2 was not even armed during final assault. Yet somehow they claimed he shot himself.

Well, those people elected the gun control crowd and apparently they wanted to feel safer by having restricted gun rights or no gun rights, and now they are safer.
Despite armed terrorists running amok and being on lock down with swat teams roaming.
They made their bed.
FACT: (and show me stats to refute it) Criminal will get guns. They always have and always will. TOTAL gun control will not prevent this. We could not keep booze out of the country during prohibition and we cannot keep drugs out of the country now. We would not keep illegals guns from being shipped into the country even if they took up all LEGAL guns from law abiding citizens. Because ONLY law abiding citizens will turn them in. The local criminals, gang lords, drug gangs, etc., will not turn their in. PERIOD! (yes, I know I am preaching to the choir!)
Hmm, maybe they should keep the citizens of Boston on “lockdown” until they catch ALL the criminals that roam their streets.
This article appears to have been written before news emerged that all the terrorists had in their possession was a single Ruger pistol and homemade bombs constructed using flash powder from commercial fireworks.
That they’d murdered a police officer and tried to take his sidearm in order to acquire a second gun for the younger bomber shows one viable method for circumventing a ‘background check’.
Just keep them on lockdown forever.
They don’t need any rights.

This story stank from the beginning.
Handguns! Hand grenades! REAL Assault Rifles! we were told!
So where was the photo op showing cops waving the guns around and calling for more gun control?
Where was the demand that the SENATE re-vote on the AW ban?
Where was Sarah Brady doing her blood dance?
Instead there was a news blackout on everything for almost a week.
Now we find there was no full automatic assault rifle, infact, no M-4 at all! And so far, only one handgun, a Ruger 9MM.
What else are they keeping from us?
Funny, don’t they put prisoners on “lockdown” while they sort out things in a prison? It’s for their own safety, you know.
It’s probably best for the “citizens” that way since they have all been disarmed. Safety first!

Yes they do.
Lockdown is a procedure used upon those who have no freedom, i.e. prisoners.
Teams then do cell by cell searches just as they did in Boston with houses.
We are in a bad place now.
