Bush 43: 'History will ultimately judge ... I'm a content man'
CNN ^ | Wed April 24, 2013 | John King

Dallas (CNN) -- George W. Bush is a proud new grandfather and fascinated by his unlikely new hobby: painting.

But some things haven't changed a bit: the trademark smirk when he is amused, a squinty glare when he doesn't appreciate the question -- and a quick turn to humor when the conversation turns to "legacy," including the scars of Iraq or the cloud of Katrina.

"History will ultimately judge the decisions that were made for Iraq and I'm just not going to be around to see the final verdict," the two-term president told CNN in a wide-ranging interview.

"In other words, I'll be dead."

Go away George Bush. Both of you. Leave us alone. Shut up. And take Karl with you where the sun don’t shine.

A good man. A placeholder. The best of choice. A moderate. An early enabler and therefore facilitator of the decline. Still pushing amnesty as well.

A very imperfect President to be sure but a far, far, far, far, far, far better one than either of his opponents would have been. Now I know that the "Romney was a Commie atheist" crowd will scream and shout at that suggestion but the reasonable among us will acknowledge it today.

Too bad GWB didn’t understand the power of the office, and the damage done because he refused to defend his actions. I didn’t agree with a lot of what GWB did, but he allowed the left-wing media to completely redefine his policies and agenda. My wish now is that GWB and family just goes away. I believe that Ronald Reagan’s biggest mistake was selecting George H.W. Bush as his Vice President. He was bad enough, but it led to George W. Bush as President. May our great President Reagan rest in peace and may our great country survive these RINOs.

Hey I’m from the turnip truck-—can you explain who and what the contributor and donations have to do with GWB?

Can’t and won’t argue with your analysis, in fact it is darn good. I’m still disappointed with RR’s selection of GHWB as his VP elevating him to the Presidency, what a mistake.

There are a lot of things I dislike about GWB & the other Bushes...but I respect him for not running around like Billy Blowjob trying to secure ‘a legacy’. I cannot imagine Obama leaving us in peace after leaving office...

I really can’t respect a man that never defended himself from his critics. He was never a principled conservative and he will be remembered as a disappointment to all. Let’s not forget that at the end of his tenure when he authorized the bankster bailouts, to paraphrase, he had to abandon capitalism in order to save the nation from ruin.
That being said, Bush was light years better than our current Islamo-Marxist POS to occupy the White House.

I’m still baffled how George W. Bush could be held responsible for Katrina yet Barack Obama gets off scot-free with Sandy.

As posted, his primary choice was Paul Laxalt, but politics drove Ronaldus Magnusto to make this decision. It is a reminder that we all need to think of how bad our decisions will turn out if we sell out our philosphies. President Reagan was duped on many issues, including abortion in California and amnesty in 1986. Trust but verify is not sufficient.

No question, GWB is a great president compared to what we have today. Unfortunately, the bar Obama sets is just way too low. In fact, I would probably be a great president based on this criteria.
