A North Texas father has been convicted of slowly starving to death his 10-year-old son, slipping his body in a sleeping bag and dumping it in a rural area where it wasn't discovered for over a year.

Aaron Ramsey, 35, was found guilty of severely injuring a child in the death of his son, Johnathan, after less than an hour of deliberations on Tuesday, and in just 20 minutes he was sentenced to life in prison by the Dallas County jury.

Prosecutors said the father locked his son in his room, where he slowly starved on a diet of bread and water.

They contend Ramsey dumped the child's emaciated body in a rural area south of Dallas in 2011. The boy's remains were found in the area a year ago in a creek.

Aaron Ramsey allegedly told police he limited the boy's meals to bread, water and sometimes milk for several months. According to police records, the boy was confined to his bedroom in the family's Dallas home.

Another delayed abortion . . . I mean, where do you draw the line . . . 1 minute, 1 hour, 5 hours, 1 year, 10 years? Where?

Let the punishment fit the crime for both of them, but we can’t do that in our civilized society so hopefully some guy in prison who hates his parents will bring some proper justice to this POS.

Well, it says the father was 35 -- for what he did to his kid, that's probably a good start.

Ten years old? What the blazes is wrong with people?? This literally makes me sick.

Johnathan, you will cry no more. You will be abused no more. May your tender soul rest in peace with Almighty God for ever and ever.

Severely injuring, seriously? How about murder?
These kind of things make me see red but I’m sure when this guy has to kneel before God, he will get his just punishment.

In Sacramento a month or so ago, a father smashed through a sliding glass door with a hatchet and killed his nine year old son with the hatchet.

Maybe there really is something to the chemtrails kooks. Then again, maybe evil is roaming free laying waste to the land and its people.

I see why God is long suffering. I’m surprised he hasn’t pulled the plug already.

It’s incrementalism. At some point they’ll say that murder is just “Week 38 + NN Abortion,” and since abortion is legal, that murder is legal.

It’s the declination of severity for all crime. It’s sinister and sad.

I get tired of the meme that we need to be civilized and demonstrate the values that make this country great yada yada...

No, sometimes we need to just be ruthless as the scum that need dispatching.

This sick monster needs to be put on a diet of one piece of bread and water while in prison. He clearly is to blame for this, but note how the mother did nothing even though she did not see or hear from her son for months at a time. She should have done something.

I sat on a criminal trial jury under this judge, Don Adams. He’s a fine Judge.

Perhaps, but I also have acres of fire ants, scorpions and snakes I can use. I have also found rasps dragged across certain things hurt really bad too.
