"Could we really be living is a world where we have lesbian PE teachers?"

No, we're living in a world where it is ADVERTISED that we have lesbian PE teachers, and we are forced to "admire" their "courage", instead of not knowing or caring, whether or not the PE teacher is lesbian or not.

The Catholic Church also teaches that sex outside of marriage is wrong and that remarriage after divorce is wrong.

Will they fire anyone who doesn’t restrict their sex life to their live long spouse?

“My (straight) son attended Bishop Watterson High School and remembers her fondly.”

That’s very touching, but the fact remains that homosexuality is an abomination to God. She has no place in a Catholic school I’m afraid.

” IT’S THE TEN COMMANDMENTS,NOT THE NINE SUGGESTIONS”

Apparently, religious schools are no longer allowed to practice their religion, or enforce its rules.

I think the church is trying to walk a rather silly tightrope.

Either allow gays or don’t. In this case, since it’s a church, it would be don’t.

Don’t have a policy that pretends.
Don’t have a policy that looks the other way as long as there isn’t any mention of the person being gay.
Don’t say “You can work here, as long as we don’t know you’re gay.” Etc.

Those policies just create these situations where eventually you have to deal with something that you should have dealt with long ago.

I have full confidence that the Roman Catholic Diocese of Columbus would fire any teacher that it found had been divorced.

All one would have to do is to search public records to find any current teacher that has been divorced and forward that information to the Diocese.

The divorced teacher would be fired and no one would object.

Just because no one is without sin doesn’t mean we should excuse sin

If she had a "partner" she not only wasn't struggling against her sin but almost certainly didn't even acknowledge it as a sin.

“Will they fire anyone who doesn’t restrict their sex life to their live long spouse?”

I don't know the answer to that. I did apply for a job as a teacher at a Catholic School some time back. I was told that I did not have to be a Catholic, but that I had to adhere to Catholic principles.

I asked if that meant they would not hire someone with a live-in girlfriend. I was told that they would not, and that if they found a teacher was living in sin that the teacher would be fired.

Didn't bother me any, since I had been married for nearly 20 years by then, but that seems to answer part of your question. If you send up a skyrocket saying “I am having sex outside marriage” through a live-in relationship will get you fired.

I’m not comfortable with churches, employers or government peeping into people’s private life.

After you publish it in the news paper it really isn’t private anymore.

I am guessing the school suspected that she was a practicing lesbian prior to the obit but after the obit and complaint from a parent they could no longer pretend that they did not know.
