One 2013 Boston Marathon runner, University of Mobile Cross Country Coach Ali Stevenson, told NBC affiliate Local 15 that he has “never seen that level of security before.” A veteran of other major marathons, he added “Evidently, I don’t believe they were just having a training exercise … I think they must have had some sort of threat or suspicion called in.”
“We reviewed our procedures and coordinated, but did not have an exercise that day”, says LTC Meriwether. “We coordinate and practice with the FBI and other agencies all the time” she said. Asked if her CST unit had received any intelligence concerning a heightened risk of attack, she said “no, but if they knew about something they probably wouldn’t have told us.”

He could be onto something I am just pointing out as other locals can attest to that Marathon Day in Boston has an increase in security, FBI, National Guard, State Police etc. ever since 2001. In fact I think I remember in 2002 the finish line was virtually in lock-down needing some kind of pass to get to the finish area.

Yes, there were a bunch of guys people were pointing out that were all dressed the same and ear pieces and black back packs, just like him. They were Seals.
BTW, tyhe guys in the kaki pants, tan boots and black packs were from Craft Itn’l. They may have been training National Guardsmen, but the one wearing a seal symbol was not NG and the guy next to him wasn’t NG either.
And they were all looking around and UP...not at the ground....
Seems to me they were told to expect a sniper....
But in reality there were bombs placed on the ground....
I guess if they had all been told to look for a bomb in a backpack on the ground events would have turned out different.
