THE TORCH IS PASSED

“Let the word go forth from this time and place, to friend and foe alike, that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans - born in this century, tempered by war, disciplined by a hard and bitter peace, proud of our ancient heritage - and unwilling to witness or permit the slow undoing of those human rights to which this nation has always been committed, and to which we are committed today at home and around the world. Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty.”

President John F. Kennedy - 20Jan1961

Genuflectimus non ad principem sed ad Principem Pacis!

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

You Are Bridge
You are a thoughtful and conscientious person. In fact, you're a bit of a brainiac.
You get a real thrill from mastering difficult tasks. You get bored if you aren't being challenged.

You are competitive, but you aren't a sore loser. You take a rational approach to competition.
You work hard, and you're persistent. You don't expect to be a natural at anything.

Thanks, Connie...*HUGS*...but I’m making great headway on my homework. d:o)

Did you have a good Tuesday? Commute without incident?

Have you planted anything yet? We had snow, but thankfully it didn’t stick.

In my undergrad days, I majored in English Lit. - had everything for a double major in History - except I didn't take one of their rinky-dink core courses. So I settled for a double major in Bridge. I think I pissed the head of the History Department off when I dropped his course "American Intellectual History" so that I could play Bridge from 1:00 to 2:30 pm in the Student Union rather than listen to his ridiculous left-wing reflections on why American street names were determined and other useless trivia. This jackass actually ruminated on the supposed "found under carnal knowledge" derivation of the F-bomb.

I played Bridge and his idiotic course interfered with it. I saw my duty and discharged it, as always! 'Nuff said!

Good evening, Mr Solitaire...have it on my iPad for waiting situations.

Is Maddi trying to walk? Keeping G-Pa on his toes chasing her crawling?

With all the trouble you’ve been having at work it’s a wonder you can remember your name! LOL

Poor Big T’s hip went south yesterday & today he could hardly walk. A trip to the Dr. & a brilliant shot of anti-inflammitory did wonders!

A bit of driving for this girl today but nary a critter or rubbernecker in sight!

I have all my herbs planted & a hanging strawberry plant...away from the “piggies”. That is all I have done this year.

So the snow is all melted off? Roads are clear?

It’a time for some warm weather your way! Well...Alaska warm right?;-}
