In America, he had been a cocky and charismatic heavyweight boxer who wore fancy pointy leather shoes and slick white shirts down to the gym. In Dagestan, the volatile southern Russian region where he lived for a time as a teen and returned to spend the first half of 2012, he became a quiet young man who spent his days online studying Islam, nursing a growing anger against heretics.

We no longer put jihadists into gitmo.

Under Obama, they are either killed by drones, tried in a U.S. court, or possibly, and I stress possibly, renditioned somewhere abroad until we decide what to do with them. This was true before these brother jihadists went on their rampage and will continue to be true going forward.

As for current gitmo detainees (put there by Bush), we are by attrition of release gradually reducing their numbers...

With an eye toward closing it, as Obama promised.

And let me add, even if we did still put foreign operating jihadists there, we don’t send American citizens on our soil, to gitmo.

And let me remind, the Obama Justice Dept. tried to sneak the gitmo detainees into a federal prison in Illinois and were rebuffed by just about everyone but Turban Durbin...

Once again we have to get the facts the MSM won’t report from the foreign press.

Yep - Elmer Fudd and the Three Stooges as well! We were all going to be poking each others’ eyes out from watching the Stooges. ‘Cept that didn’t happen neither.

Straying slightly from topic...

I was over clicking through articles on the terrorists at the DailyMail UK...Anyhow, I noticed a picture of the two brothers and the dead one, #1 had on tennis-shoes/black sports shoes. Didn’t he noticeably have on pointy-toe dress shoes in most of the images that we’ve seen?

I wonder if they made a play of changing shoes when they set down the backpacks? Sorry, just noticed that and it has puzzled me a bit.

It’s gotta be more than that. Way back when wasn’t there some toilets at Gitmo clogged by korans? Wouldn’t that have required more than 14 pages?

I was exaggerating. But it’s not very big. Wen I look it up it says, 114 chapters vs 1189 (or so) chapters in a bible.

Probably still big enough to clog a gitmo toilet lol.

To understand it properly (to the extent this is even possible) one needs to learn classical Arabic, and then also be able to understand all the literary structures and allusions in whats basically a poem. An awful lot of the Koran reads like gibberish, and plenty of it is contradictory. I understand that its a very difficult translation job. It doesn’t help that the thing is basically unstructured, with no coherent organization by topic or temporally, like the Bible.

Its probably a bunch of inside baseball for which we no longer have the context. Maybe this stuff made sense to a resident of Mecca in the year 690 but its probably fair to say that much of the meaning of the thing to a modern reader depends on the assumptions the reader brings to it. The Bible, for the most part, is a model of clarity compared to the Koran.

The Koran is fairly short, but commentaries and expansions(based on oral traditions) on the Koran are as significant, and arguably in the matter of Islamic law and day to day customs, much more so. Much of the stuff there actually supercedes the practices demanded in the Koran. The Hadith (primary collection of oral tradition) run to dozens of volumes, a few much more significant than the rest, and govern some rather basic things like the five daily prayers - the Koran is not itself very clear on this point and can be read to require only two or three prayers.

The Stooges were fair minded, bopping each other as well as everyone they encountered. But the muzzies don't play fair. They hate women, relegating them to second-class status. Not allowed to do things the men do, and they torture, beat and deprive their women of freedom and even life.

Then there's the matter of hating infidels (non-muslim peoples), who are relegated to third-class status. If they think it's fine to beat and torture their women according to their koran, well, we rate lower than their women so it's a good bet they won't just poke us in the eyes. Islam is a gutter religion that needs to be discarded by humanity for everyone's sake.
