George W. Bush's Approval Rating Hits A Surprising 7-Year High As His Library Opens In Texas

Former President George W. Bush's approval rating is up to 47%, a seven-year high for the former president, according to a Washington Post-ABC News poll.

The mark stands as Bush's highest approval rating since December 2005, one year through his second term in office.

By October 2008, Bush's approval rating had sunk to an abysmal 23% before inching up to 33% as he left the White House.

One possible cause for the bump — besides the former Commander in Chief's time out of the spotlight — could be the upcoming dedication of his presidential library. On Thursday, the $250 million Bush presidential library will be dedicated Thursday at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.

All living presidents, including President Barack Obama, will attend.

The candidate who could not even beat Markist Obama.

With hundreds of negative stories running on Drudge, could not even pull him over or get the base to come out.
No more candidates like Romney, ever. Romneycare/Gay marriage bill, who was the father of that. No more, if they want to win again.

A liberal socialist? That’s a joke. You need to figure out who your enemies are, and it’s not a guy who kept taxes low, kept government out of way for businesses, and built a stronger military and aggressive strategy on Islamic terrorists.

And also had the biggest expansion of Governement and Government spending since LBJ in the 1960’s.
The war on terror is nothing more at this point than a expansion of the Poice State and usurping our Rights and Liberties.
Witness Boston you tag a couple of useless itdiots as Terrorists and a entire metropolitan area is shut down with untold economic damages.
George Bush was at best a medicore RINO President that lied about who he was all the time just like his Father.

In retrospect, he was perfect for the position of Governor of Texas, a state whose legislature meets every other year, and the Lt Gov wields much of the legislative power.

Rick Perry for President...are you kidding me?

I've been disappointed with W ever since the financial "meltdown" of '08 and how W went along with the bail out to prevent a so-called crisis. 0's mode of operation has been crisis mode/Blame-it-on-Bush, since day one.

At least Cheney has had the guts to call this admin out...wish W would've stood up for himself, instead of letting 0 get away with the "I inherited this" crapola.

The final straw, for me, with W, was after I read this statement in this past weekend's Parade (an interview highlighting his library opening and attendance of all living presidents)...

..."And so yes, my administration and President Obama's administration have gone on the offense against people who would do us harm. The ultimate way for there to be peace however, is for freedom to take root, democracy to take root, where governments are decided by the will of the people. And that's beginning to happen as a result of the Arab Spring".

One possible cause for the bump — besides the former Commander in Chief's time out of the spotlight — . . . .

Could be more than 4 years of having Obozo in the White House!!!

When the Homeland Security Dept was created, my hesitation, like many here was not what it was in 2002, but what it would be under a future administration. All our fears were warranted, because it didn’t even take 10 years.

The concept of all the agencies rolling up to one person was a good idea to create accountability and break down the existing barriers of sharing data. The addition of airport screeners, etc created a new monolithic body to infringe on our privacy. It was not hard to predict, either.

From similar WaPo article Bush’s approval is now equal to Obama’s in the WaPo/ABC polling:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/bush-library-opening-puts-his-presidency-back-in-the-spotlight/2013/04/22/bb7e6b9c-ab65-11e2-a8b9-2a63d75b5459_story.html

“Days before his second term ended in 2009, Bush’s approval rating among all adults was 33 percent positive and 66 percent negative. The new poll found 47 percent saying they approve and 50 percent saying they disapprove. Among registered voters, his approval rating today is equal to President Obama’s, at 47 percent, according to the latest Post-ABC surveys.”
