Isn’t Cheney from up around there?

Is it Montana of Wyoming he’s from?

I’ve always wondered why this state has any Democrats in office at all.....then I remember a couple I met in Seattle that were hard corps unionists/Democrats......both were born/raised in Butte Montana.... just never seemed right to me......except as children of the Great Depression.....

Funny, he voted against the gun bill even though he knew he was leaving and wouldn’t have to face the voters of Montana, maybe there is a shred of decency in him...

First elected to the Senate in ‘78. He was a Watergate Baby in the House, elected in 1974 (beating a GOP incumbent).

Cheney is from Wyoming. His daughter is considering a run against moderate republican Mike Enzi.

OR.. he voted against the gun bill planning on seeking re-election.

Then looked at the poll numbers and realized he STILL was going to lose so he retired.

OR.. maybe he has some decency. Maybe.

Unfortunately, this actually complicates us getting this seat. It was expected that ex-Gov. Schweitzer was going to challenge Baucus in the Dem primary, which was going to be ugly. Whomever emerged would be damaged against a GOP opponent. Now with Schweitzer having clear sailing, it will be more difficult, and with no clear cut GOP opponent.

Which frees him to vote for the next gun control bill that is coming down the pike.

And like Tom Daschle before him, someday he’ll show up on Capitol Hill in a Rolex and Armani suit to tell his former colleagues that life as an ex-Senator can be very, very good indeed....IF you’re willing to play ball.
