Marco Rubio’s press secretary likens non-citizen permanent residency to slavery
Twitchy ^ | Monday April 22, 2013

Alex Conant @AlexConant: "We haven't had a cohort of people living permanently in US without full rights of citizenship since slavery".

Mind you, he isn’t talking only about illegal immigrants. He’s talking about any non-citizen who lives in this country permanently, including millions of Green Card holders.

And by implication:

Conn Carroll @conncarroll: For those of you keeping score at home, Rubio spokesman @AlexConant just compared all Schumer-Rubio opponents to slave owners

If this is Team Rubio’s strategy for winning over conservatives, good luck with that.

No one is forcing them to stay here another minute.

Hate to say it, but Rubio is an idiot on this issue. They’re not being held here against their will. They are not slaves.

This is not like human trafficking which often happens when there are frank illegales that get systematically winked at.

Never bought his act. Never will.

Blood is thicker than the Constitution, and lust for power is thicker than both.

If this came from Rubio, he needs a wake up call. This is the sort of thing you expect out of liberal-emote, not out of conservative-think.

This is about as insane as it gets.

It this is indeed Rubio’s spokesperson...he needs to slap a huge piece of duct tape over his mouth.

Nobody forced these people to be here. AND...they can always leave.

Slaves were captured, brought here, and retained by force. They forced their way in, and we are begging them to leave. Some slavery.

“We haven’t had a cohort of people living permanently in US without full rights of citizenship since slavery”.”

Does that mean Piers Morgan gets citizenship next week?

Rubio isn’t naive or being played. It’s the people that that are played and naive about Rubio and Co. He knows exactly what’s he doing and that pandering and selling out

They are free to leave anytime. As a matter of fact I think most American Citizens would prefer that they left.

Politicians would sell out far less often if they thought to the logical end of the positions they are asked to espouse. Sometimes there is room for uncertainty on issues but not here. Rubio has spewed B.S.

Rubio is starting to come out of ‘his’ closet as to whom he believes to be USA citizens. Who he believes are not the ones that my brother died for in WWII and in which I also had overseas service.

When I scanned this, I was confusing Alex Conant with Cesar Conda. Marco Rubio has an interesting staff. I read this last weekend:

History repeats itself, and this time, we are the NATIVES! Who is Cesar Conda? - http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3007546/posts

Meet Cesar Conda, chief of staff, Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., close associate and fellow amnesty pusher of Grover Norquist, who last week called all of us who want our borders secured, “Bitter enders”, He might as well have called us ‘Savages’.

Here is detailed some of the undermining of immigration law these two have accomplished over 3 decades, including working closely with Stephen Moore of the Cato Institute, Conda circulated a statement against Prop. 187 of California in the nineties. The race baiting they pulled on Alan Simpson when he tried to enforce the borders in the 90’s was nothing but disgusting.

Conda, an immigration lawyer, was Vice President Dick Cheney’s chief domestic policy adviser. After leaving there, Conda went to work for George Soros on the editorial advisory board of the Soros publication, The International Economy Magazine.

Even amnesty pushers on the left like Conda!

So deporting them is the same as freeing the slaves. Lincoln would be proud.

Slaves just couldn’t leave when they wanted to, the illegals can.

Did Marco Rubio change suddenly or did he fool me and many others regarding his political views?
