Many young Obama voters are getting a taste of the real world.

Posted on 04/21/2013 5:48:36 PM PDT by cradle of freedom

I can't help but think that many of the *idealist* (dopey) young people who voted for Obama must be getting the shock of their young lives. Many college students who voted for Obama were only children when 9/11 happened, it may not have been real to them but THIS is their 9/11, they will not forget it.

The massive coverage that the Boston Marathon bombing has had has penetrated their little air-head experience of tweeting, social media and celebrities. Maybe they will be more grown up and sober people next time they vote.

Most believe Obammy was directing the cops and FBI. Most believe that Bush master minded 9-11.

"...all I get now is iphones."

Come now, isn't the world a better place knowing that you have instant access to view your friends twitter account when they are describing their current bowel movement. That is pure "progress".

My oldest graduated college in December. A semester early.

She took the hardest courses available, often calling us at home crying, but she toughed it out.

She lettered in her sport 3 out of 4 years. The one year she didn’t letter was because of an injury.

This past November she voted in her first Presidential election, standing in line for six hours to vote in the screwed up Richland County, SC election.

She moved to DC 2 months ago with no job, no prospects and immediately landed a temp job with a major corporation and has worked every weekend in a restaurant as a waitress.

Two weeks ago she landed a permanent position with a consulting firm. Her new boss told her one reason he hired her was because of the rigor of her undergraduate course work, and because she completed a research project and was invited to present her findings as a podium presentation at a regional research conference. Last night she thanked us for advising her to take the hard courses.

Because she doubled her temp pay she gave the restaurant not 2 but 3 weeks notice. She said they were great to her and she doesn’t want to leave the short.

She will start Grad school in the fall to study statistical analysis.

Oh, BTW in November she voted Republican.

She detested the Occupy Movement.

She IS NOT one of the young Obama voters.

This warms the cockles of my heart. I don’t know what cockles means but I hope I spelled it correctly.

I wish the GOP would run ads on pop radio that Obama used you and doesn’t care about you.

Put it in context of a person who has come around, “I feel like a sucker. Like I was conned. I feel so violated.”

My husband was in a conversation in the grocery store line with a friend. They were talking about the past weeks events. A woman in her twenties chimed into the conversation. She claimed that it “we won”.

Pop radio is good but it is out of the control of the individual but -—twitter is in our control. :^D

Husband and friend were talking to each other about how terrible it was and the carnage, that we were facing more attacks because of Obamas negligence. She was upset with their conversation, said that the guys were dead and caught, and we won.

Congrats on your daughter's perseverance and budding success.
It is heartening to hear of those in next generation who carry on the traditions and retain the character that built our country and made it great.

Our grandson in grade school already knows that not only do we have a massive failure in the White House, but why he is a failure. He knows history that is not taught in his school and knows how to get top grades without buying into the PC mush that is presented as fact and knowledge.

We have high hopes for him.

Wishful thinking. All they ( younger generation) have heard from their teachers is "hate America" and numerous lessons on how we have brought this upon ourselves.

Someone please show me an example in the past 18 years of a national role model", a hero, someone to look up to, that speaks of the greatness and virtues of what made this country great. Today, who do they inspire to be come like?

***I doubt it. 3 people died versus 2100 in 9/11

80,000 pot heads got a good scare in CO. I couldn’t help but laugh. Wonder if some good guys shot a couple of rounds into the ground near by to give them a dose of reality.

Due to their current public schooling, both secondary and post, they are far too ignorant to learn from their mistakes. They have also been indoctrinated to believe they are owed everything without work. Their collective hubris is astounding.

I’ve noticed that most of the black students in NYC high schools that I’ve encountered have a hair-trigger mouth about their “rights”. You tell them, “Please remove your hat” or “You are not allowed to do ___”, immediately they spew, “It’s because I’m black!” out of their mouths. If you deny them anything at all or tell them about anything which restricts them from doing what they want, this is what you hear. They also believe that it is the teacher’s responsibility to supply them with paper and pens. They come to school without the basic tools with which to learn, they pay little to no attention to lessons, being too busy trying to sneak their cell phones out, they cut classes and wander the halls in herds, but they are the first to open their mouths about “their rights” when they predictably fail due to their own behaviors. I would say that their indoctrination comes from Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, et al.

You have described attributes of Africa society in general. Only a few persons from that hodge pod of humans want to understand why other cultures have progessed over hundreds of years.
