Genghis Khan the GREEN: Invader killed so many people that carbon levels plummeted
Daily Mail ^ | January 25, 2011 | Daily Mail reporter

Genghis Khan has been branded the greenest invader in history - after his murderous conquests killed so many people that huge swathes of cultivated land returned to forest. The Mongol leader, who established a vast empire between the 13th and 14th centuries, helped remove nearly 700million tons of carbon from the atmosphere, claims a new study. The deaths of 40 million people meant that large areas of cultivated land grew thick once again with trees, which absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

He left a pyramid at what is present-day Herat, Iran which numbered about 70k. I think they left him alone for a long time after that. Correct me if I’m wrong.

40 million people? Isn’t that figure an overestimation?

I think it’s Tamerlane noted for mountains of skulls. Same deal though.

I predict that the EPA will one day be in charge of killing camps, authorized by their mission to decrease the emission of CO2 (human exhalation) as a greenhouse gas.

and a bit tongue-in-cheek ...

Tongue-in-cheek indeed. But it should remind us that the not-so-hidden agenda of the people who want to "protect the environment" is population reduction. Everything they support is aimed at reducing both the quality and quantity of life on this planet. In fact they don't give 2 cents for the environment.

large areas of cultivated land grew thick once again with trees, which absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

And the crops that were cultivated on that land didn't absorb carbon dioxide. God what morons.

About 60 million Russians died during WWII. Does Stalin deserve a “Green” medal?

Of you ever listen to podcasts check out Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History. He has an eight and a half hour series on the Kahns. It is a very interesting story.

There are less icky ways to green things up. Doesn’t New England have more forest than it used to, because there is less tilled land than, say, 150 years ago? And more wildlife is coming back (some of which is predators). Improved agricultural production resulted in more wild land. And no icky body piles. So there, Gengis.

What was Hilter, Chopped Liver?

I mean he was a vegan, teetotaler, non-smoker, and he eliminated Jews who slaughtered animals for food. What was not to love for an environmentalist whacko?

Since he killed 40 million does this mean he was more green than Hitler or Stalin?

So Genghis Khan caused the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere to plummet... and several centuries later, the Little Ice Age takes place, which causes widespread death, famine, and pestilence. A cooling Earth is not a pretty place to live.

I’ve read a bit about the history of the Kahn’s ... some of the most interesting reading I’ve done. The Mongols were basically unstoppable until they ran into a little thing called the Black Plague.

Another four years of far left extremism, and Obama may pass Genghis Khan as the most environmentally friendly ruler in history. I am not optimistic about the next four years under this regime.
