IMHO, We missed an opportunity when Newt was running. Nevertheless...Obama won on demographics and the sheep vote.
Speaking of that, we did indeed. Sadly, Newt and his Super PAC (of which I was a member) share a lot of the blame for that. It is all explained here, including a long section on the GOP primary season and my extremely heated battles with the estab consultants inside Newt's PAC (yes, we had a few in there, dammit).

Well that’s partly true. Romney could have stood on his head and whistled Dixie and it wouldn’t have mattered. The fix was in and nothing was, or will, ever change that until the GOP learns to fight these Rats with their own medicine.
Yes, we missed the chance to have Newt work with Pelosi to craft Climate Change legislation from their cozy little couch. No thanks.
Obama won primarily because he ran against our weakest possible candidate ~ Romney!
I agree. The weird hatred of Gingrich from the GOP establishment and many conservatives is what killed our best shot at the White House.
