[[Like so many things, don’t we already have laws against this sort of thing.]]

Laws are ONLY for punishing the law abidign citizens- Laws are NEVER meant to be used agaisnt illegals and crimionals-

“law abiding chumps”

Those are the three most devastatingly eye opening words I've seen on this forum in months. They spell out exactly what's wrong with us.

It’s gettign to the point where the ONLY way to be lawful these days is to becoem a lawbreaker- I’ve siad it many times- I’m thinking of movign to mexico, denouncing my American citizenship- then sneakeing back across the boarder into the US just so that I can be protected by the laws and get lots of ‘free stuff’

I used to like Rubio... ...until I didn't.

he was better than Crist, but I hope we get an actual conservative in 2016.

Hey! Follow the money, as always: the “MarcoPhone.”

Interestingly, TracFone, a company that will likely benefit from this type of government program, is based in Rubio’s Miami, Florida.”

"Rubio explained that under his bill, illegal aliens who “have committed serious crimes” will be deported."

Oh really? What about the MILLIONS of them who have been committing vote fraud to put people like Barack Obama and Harry Reid in office? I've called Rubio's office multiple times to urge making cross checking voter registration roles a condition of this "pathway" garbage. No response has been offered and no comments have been made.

He's out there selling the bill Schumer approved, but we aren't going to see it until its passed and we can learn what's in it.

Wide is the gate and broad is the road, remember . . . the true chumps are treading that road.

Rubio's major lack of judgement was signing on to the Gang of Eight in the first place.

Any political newbie knows that when a hot issue is in the hands of a "committee" of which one is a volunteer member, one gets caught up in the clutches of compromise, concensus and comaraderie. One cannot escape the inevitable bad outcome for one's principles, no matter how strongly felt. They get watered down.

Dumb decision, Marco. You were on a real high. Now you're doubted, derided and distrusted by conservatives in your base who weren't born yesterday. Your presidential ambitions are jeopardized. You're caught in a box now and can't escape if and when the Gang's final recommendations come to the Senate floor...and these recommendations prove out to be amnesty......which we expected from the gitgo.

A smart guy who wants to be president never lets himself be caught in a trap like you have, Senator.

Caramba!

Coming from a state that has been giving drivers’ licenses to illegals for years, I’ve given this a lot of thought. My proposal is to go ahead give them licenses but stamp the licenses, ALIEN, or make them a different color and require a full set of finger prints in lieu of a legal birth certificate. Then require a prepaid insurance policy. The license would expire at the same time as the prepaid policy and would only be renewable in person. If you wanted you could also embed a gps chip in the license.

Very Faustian. Lots of pols do the devil’s deal to get what they want. Rubio isn’t innoculated from the temptation.
