Rep. Michael Burgess slammed Obamacare as “bad news from top to bottom,” but he called for adding $4 billion to the program to take care of the 65,000 people with pre-existing conditions that are currently being denied coverage they were promised.

In an interview with Newsmax TV, the Texas Republican said the extra money was needed after the pre-existing coverage program, a center piece of Obamacare, blew through its $5 billion budget in January and closed its doors to new members. …

You want to laugh until you cry. Republicans instructing the Obama Administration to burn money at a faster rate.

If the fiscal year starts on October 1 and the fund blew through $5B in 4 months, assuming they were representative months, that aspect of Obamacare would be 200% over budget by September 30th. With accuracy that poor, why call it budgeting?

Why in God's name would a freaking Republican want to flush another $4B down the Mengelecare toilet?

Why would anyone want to buy insurance if they knew that they could magically have their medical bills paid by some insurance company on Day One after they get sick? --

"Say, I have a pre-existing condition; can I have an insurance policy?"
"Why sure! We'll take care of everything!"

Buying insurance when you're healthy is for suckers!!

This guy is no RINO, so that’s why his proposal is perplexing. I understand he’s not proposing new spending but rather a reallocation of funds from another wasteful part of the program, but he should first and foremost be demanding that Mengelecare get killed off completely, not playing around with the logistics of it.

Well, he seems to be wanting to join the RINO camp in this instance.

Burgess highlights for thinking people what has gone wrong with our so-called “democracy” for the past 50 years.

535 men and women have gotten together in D.C. each of these 50 odd years and succumbed to constituent demands to get them some money! Few politicians have been able to “just say no”.

One would love to scream in Burgess’s face “you idiot, we ain’t got any money”! And, oh by the way, I’m one of the ones with pre existing conditions!

Our democracy has run amok!

Because he is a Republican, not a conservative.

Don’t confuse political party with political philosophy.

that pre-exisiting condition provision is why my health insurance went UP 25% January 1.

I don’t agree. I’ve been out of work and now getting back on my feet. Couple of years ago I had a basil cell removed. That’s a killer pre condition. I’m much more liable to get melanoma. Should I be denied insurance? If so what? Just go die ?
