Boston Suspects' Background Threatens To Derail Immigration Bill

Boston Suspects' Background Threatens To Derail Immigration Bill Some Republicans voice second thoughts about immigration reform legislation in light of the revelation that the Boston bombing suspects are ethnic Chechens who came to the U.S. from Russia.

“Given the events of this week, it's important for us to understand the gaps and loopholes in our immigration system,” Sen. Charles E. Grassley of Iowa, the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, said at a hearing on the immigration reform bill.

By Lisa Mascaro April 19, 2013 WASHINGTON — The background of the Boston bombing suspects quickly emerged Friday as a potential hurdle to immigration reform, as renewed fears of terrorism gave conservative opponents a fresh argument against a proposed new law.

"Given the events of this week, it's important for us to understand the gaps and loopholes in our immigration system," Sen. Charles E. Grassley of Iowa, the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, said at a hearing.

"How can individuals evade authorities and plan such attacks on our soil?" he asked. "How do we ensure that people who wish to do us harm are not eligible for benefits under the immigration laws, including this new bill before us?"

Conservative commentators echoed Grassley.

The proposed law's "sponsors should delay debate on the bill until there is a full and complete account of how the children who became terrorists came into the country," wrote Hugh Hewitt, a radio host, referring to the brothers who are suspected of planting two bombs at the Boston Marathon that killed three people and injured more than 170.

After it became known that the older brother had died in a shootout with police, Ann Coulter tweeted: "It's too bad Suspect # 1 won't be able to be legalized by Marco Rubio, now."

Left Rights-—When a women has the right to kill another human being, (just because it happens to be in her womb.) (Which also happened to be there by a chosen right).
It’s GUNG-HO.
But when comes to law biding American citizens the right to bear arms.
It’s GUNS-NO!

It is my hope that more that were on the fence are awake now. Immigration reform needs to be put on the skids. Maybe a few woke up to their 2nd amendment rights. Time to wake up.....

When the marathon bombing first happened, the thought crossed my mind that it would negatively impact the immigration amnesty bill.

There was never a doubt in my mind that the bombers would turn out to be foreign born radicals.

LOL Guess somebody didn’t get the message that we aren’t supposed to jump to conclusions (unless we’re blaming conservatives) or label any whole groups as terrorist (Unless we’re talking about conservatives)

That’s what’s known as the silver lining. Conservatives better not let this crisis go to waste.

It should knock down amnesty and push back on the attempt to curtail gun ownership too.

After all with foreign bred terrorists running around, shouldn’t we secure the borders and make sure that everyone has a gun for self defense?

I think the best line I saw today on twitter was from a girl I follow who said “I am all for background checks..ON IMMIGRANTS”

As tragic of an event this is, it might have been they answer to our prayers we needed to help wake people up and turn this country back around.

When I first heard the news, I had two thoughts:

1) This was perpetrated by Muslims; and
2) The media will waste no time in blaming the right.

I was correct on both counts.

Yeah, I can understand the pimp demorats who pushed to open the borders, but when jorge busho showed his colors? That’s about the time I said “adios” to the repugnant party.

********
When the first pics of the brothers was released someone on FR (wish I could remember who) astutely noticed several things about the suspects’ clothing that did not fit the typical way American kids dress these days (e.g., they don’t wear baseball hats with hard shoes). The FReeper went on to say this was indicative of foreign born kids. It was a great observation and the type of insights you constantly see on FR.
