I wanted to call your attention to the fact that the dead Boston bomber’s website contained links to Muslim end-time (Madhist) websites discussing the prophecies about the “Black Banners of Khorosan”. Charles Cameron at the Zenpundit blog has been writing specifically about Madhism and end-time prophecies as a factor in terrorism for years now, and is a very informative source. The fact that they are Madhists is probably more important than that they are Chechens.
If a radical Muslim believes these are the End Times, and there is No Future, then why not join Allah's jihad and kill as many infidels as possible in your last days? The Hadith guarantee that before Judgment Day, all of the infidels will be killed, and Islam will triumph throughout the world.

“Black Flags of Khorasan” ping
Unfortunately there are also non Muslim end time groups, some have committed mass suicide in the US. Can’t think of the name of that group that did it recently.
Yes, Dajjal, and that ‘tradition’ has as its foundation the event described in the Exodus, when the Amalekites, fleeing a catastrophe in their own region, fled toward Egypt by following a long black cloud; they met and fought with the fleeing slaves of Egypt, and when they reached Egypt, they found a land destroyed. Their interpretation was that Egypt had been laid bare for them and some supernatural force (which hurled black stones to earth?) meant the entire world was theirs for booty. They naturally, quite desperately want this to happen once again, thus the prophecy.
And they’ll wipe the planet clean of humanity, turn it to dust and ashes to make it happen.
Non-muslim end time groups, fortunately, kill themselves.

Media seems in damage control mode declaring the Boston perps as HOME GROWN TERRORISTS, not part of AQ of Saudi Arabia. This week Saudi officials made their cover very clear with Obama. Chechens are extremely close to Saudi Wahhabis.
