Chechen Terrorists Probed (border problems from 2004)
The Washington Times ^ | October 13 2004

Posted on 04/19/2013 7:32:57 AM PDT by abishai

U.S. security officials are investigating a recent intelligence report that a group of 25 Chechen terrorists illegally entered the United States from Mexico in July.

The Chechen group is suspected of having links to Islamist terrorists seeking to separate the southern enclave of Chechnya from Russia, according to officials familiar with intelligence reports.

Members of the group, said to be wearing backpacks, secretly traveled to northern Mexico and crossed into a mountainous part of Arizona that is difficult for U.S. border security agents to monitor, said officials speaking on the condition of anonymity.

The intelligence report was supplied to the U.S. government in late August or early September and was based on information from an intelligence source that has been proved reliable in other instances, one official said.

A second U.S. official said the report is being investigated, but said it could not be determined whether the group of Chechens actually entered the country, as the intelligence source reported.

“We don’t know whether or not that report is true,” this official said....

It could not be learned whether the reported infiltration is related to the recent Education Department warning to school officials to examine security in the aftermath of the attack last month by pro-Chechnya Muslim terrorists on a school in Russia, in which more than 300 people were killed and some 700 wounded.

In the Russian attack, heavily armed Islamists took over and wired with explosives the school building in Beslan, North Ossetia. It is believed that an accidental explosion set off a battle between Russian security personnel and the terrorists, who set off several explosions and shot schoolchildren and teachers as they tried to escape....

I immediately thought of this story when I heard the suspects were Chechens. The thirst for votes and cheap labor from illegal immigrants by BOTH parties has put this country and its citizens in grave danger.

Exactly, this is why illegal immigration is BAD.
And exactly why both parties are -and exactly guilty of- treason.

George Clooney made a cheesy movie a few years back called “The Peacemaker” where a Chechen did just that. He backpacked across a rugged frontier carry nuclear bomb parts that he then smuggled into the US.

Our government has basically dropped our pants and bent over allowing anyone to just walk in the front door all in the attempt to secure votes and cheap labor.

Thus immigration “reform” dies another painful ignominious death.

Hey, that was in 2004 ... why, if those terrorists have lived in this country for almost a decade and have not caused any problems there should be no problem in granting them citizenship.

Love, Marco.

There are eerie similarities to FX's The Americans, a story of Russian spies infiltrated into US society in the 1980s.

Sorry to inundate multiple threads with the same post, but I think this bears repeating and should be broadcast from one end of the U.S. to the other:

One of the dirty secrets of this whole situation that may or may not come out of these media reports is that the U.S. has been an active partner with Chechen separatists in Russia over the years. Do a search on the interesting history of a group called the American Committee for Peace in Chechnya (ACPC). They were established in Washington D.C. in 1999 but changed their name to the American Committee for Peace in the Caucasus in 2004 after the Beslan massacre in Russia. Their board of directors is filled with many of the same neo-con @ssholes from the Bush administration who were supposedly leading the U.S. "war on terror" back then.

And just in case anyone has any doubts about where the priorities of these @ssholes lie, just keep in mind that many of them were clamoring for the Clinton administration to launch military action against Serbia to help protect Islamic radicals in Kosovo, too.

If anyone out there still trusts his/her own government, you're deluded.

What I don’t get is how one of these clowns qualified for and GOT an educational grant without proper ID.

If they came here illegally or are posing as legals with false documents, why couldn’t the ‘system’ properly challenge this before handing over the money?

Hmm, this was about 10 years ago, right after the Beslan massacres. The brothers have been here for about ten years, with their parents who recently moved back to Russia. You don’t suppose that this family was somehow involved in the Checnyan massacre and is in hiding here? Not hiding well.... I love it that the one brother RAN OVER the other one last night. Such a glorious martyrdom/ not.
