Police source: 2 Russian nationals pulled over in Niagara Falls; 4 suspicious backpacks in the car, robot & bomb techs on scene.

UPDATE: A high ranking source tells 2 On Your Side that the traffic stop in Niagara Falls this morning was routine, but police are searching items in the vehicle and residents are being asked to stay away from the area. The source also tells us the people in the car are NOT Russian nationals. They are US citizens and are cooperating with police.

UPDATE: Two men in custody as investigation into Massachusetts car continues in Falls
Niagara Falls Police Superintendent Bryan DalPorto said two men are being detained as Falls and State Police continue to investigate a car with Massachusetts plates on Elmwood Avenue.
DalPorto said the two men are not Russion nationals but would not comment further on the subject.
Falls police received a tip from a passerby of the car and the car was stopped by a patrolman. The two men in the car are being detained for questioning, DalPorto said.
Meanwhile, Falls and New York State Police have closed off Elmwood Avenue between 18th and 19th streets while the state police bomb squad’s robotic device investigates the black Nissan.
“We’re not sure of the contents of the car or what their activity is,” DalPorto said of the situation.
It’s early in the investigation, added Capt. Craig Hanesworth of the New York State Police.
“There are items in the car,” he said. “what they are, we don’t know.”
Police were not evacuating the area behind City Market, but police were urging people in the area to stay in their homes.

It truly is; I thought the same thing when I read some of the comments. Lord, I wish I could create my own colony and live among like-minded people (WNY is bluer than blue, for the most part). Let the liberals live in their little “utopia” and see how quickly it goes downhill.
