MSNBC host Lawrence O'Donnell made the case this evening that the National Rifle Association is to blame for the slow investigation into the Boston bombings:
"There are new developments tonight in the bombing investigation here in Boston," said O'Donnell. "But that investigation could be moving faster were it not for the successful lobbying efforts of the National Rifle Association.
The NRA's efforts to guarantee that American mass murderers are the best-equipped mass murders in the world is not limited to murderers who use assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.
The NRA is also in the business of helping bombers get away with their crimes. Gunpowder could be traced by investigators to a buyer at the point of sale if gunpowder contained a taggant, an element that would enable tracing of the purchase of gunpowder.
But thanks to the National Rifle Association, identification taggants are required by law only in plastic explosives. The NRA has successfully blocked any requirements for such taggants in gunpowder. So such supremely helpful evidence as taggants are not available to the FBI in this investigation."

Even if these politicos don't care about us civilians, imagine if someone in law enforcement or the military needs to shoot, but they couldn't count on their ammo working right, because the gun powder was contaminated.

I would guess that the explosive used contained very little if any gun powder because the ‘smoke’ was so white. This is from stuff a person can get as a fertilizer even possibly a drug store, no gun powder as such involved. Just goes to show how ignorant people on a crusade against guns will/can twist things.

I’m flicking through channels to see how other networks are covering the news and MSLSD has been talking gun control non stop, calling those who voted against it liars and cowards and the NRA are liars etc.
They have hardly mentioned the massive explosion in TX but then again the far left hates the south and small towns so they probably think people down here deserve this but I bet if this happened in Chicago, NY City etc then it would be news to them
Uh, Bozo O’Donnell: the NRA didn’t create gun-free zones. The NRA didn’t come up with light sentences at some funny farm for convicted murderers. The NRA did not cheapen the value of life by allowing abortion on demand. The NRA did not create sensationalized 24-7 reporting on every strait-jacket candidate who commits murder with a gun.
