By Pete Williams, Kristen Welker and Erin McClam, NBC News Federal agents on Wednesday arrested a suspect in the mailing of letters to President Barack Obama and a U.S. senator that initially tested positive for the poison ricin.
The suspect was identified as Kenneth Curtis of Tupelo, Miss., federal officials told NBC News.
Both letters carried an identical closing statement, according to an FBI bulletin obtained by NBC News on Wednesday.
According to the FBI bulletin, both letters, postmarked April 8, 2013 out of Memphis, Tenn., included an identical phrase, "to see a wrong and not expose it, is to become a silent partner to its continuance."
In addition, both letters are signed: "I am KC and I approve this message."

Media has their white guy!!!
They can sure move pretty damn fast when the elites are targeted.
Kinda figured he was from Mississippi...Who the hell sends ricin to an unknown Mississippi Senator.
The “Sunshine Band” is gonna miss him....
But he also sent it to the usurper, Cornyn and Levin. Kind of random.
I love Festus. Never realized what a huge role he had in Gunsmoke. He stars in many shows. Lovin’ the reruns!!
Just pray for the USA at this point in time....sickening week and its only Wednesday.
could be more IRS agents.
"Two dozen present and former IRS workers indicted in Memphis "
This doesn’t smell right.
Obviously we need to outlaw Mail.
Odumbo wouldn’t do sh**te if a Republican was involved. It just happened odumbo got set one himself.
A suspect has been identified. Of course, the media continues to ignore the mail bomb that was sent to Sheriff Joe Arpaio last week.
Well, the media only now got shamed into covering the abortion trial. Give it time, they may yet give traction to the attack on Joe Arpaio.
I wonder how many relatives he just sprung from prison with that gift.
“I am KC, don’t forget to release my relatives.”
He sure doesn’t sound very bright. My guess is he is a mental case. Signed his stupid initials. I bet it isn’t ricin after all is said and done either.
Wicker is a Republican
So what was the wrong he has issues with?
That’s what i said. My bad, I should’ve worded it better.
Now I get the Gump statement. Stupid is as stupid does.
Where did the good ole boy come up with Ricin?
It was not THIS “KC”.
Is he just a pest who wrote one too many letters?
They sure got him quick, didn’t they?
I was looking for a Facebook profile to see his interests and likes to get an idea where he stands on the issues. No luck yet.
You still out there?
The quote has something to do with Medicare Fraud:
Yup! Finally. Ricin has been manufactured by a white supremacist, previously. Not to mention a Bulgarian assassin with an umbrella.
That'll never happen.
he was also a great singer. He sang for the Sons of the Pioneers.
It's from Castor Beans. One of the most trivial deadly substances to produce. You don't exactly need a chemical weapons lab and a PhD. It's actually more complicated to make Meth and plenty of Good 'ol Boys do that.
Though as another poster mentioned I would not be surprised that further testing reveals it's not actually Ricin - testing for it accurately is much harder than making it, and there are a lot of false positives.
Then tomorrow or better yet, late Friday, announce that those two suspects in the Boston bombings are "home-grown Muslims living in Boston!"
Well, well... this will help balance out what’s gonna go down in Boston.
Who in Ole Miss even knows who Levin is?
I think part of the FBI questioning should be how he got a letter postmarked April 8th delivered so quickly.
where is a picture or where does it say he is caucasian?
Wicker was in one group of Republicans who voted for a cloture vote (an early gun control vote) that most Republicans and conservatives opposed. And certainly the Dims who got the letters would have voted for cloture.
The envelopes were mailed before that vote, but the Wicker might have stated his intentions beforehand. That's a vote from Wicker that surprised some.
Then again, that might not be related.
Tupelo is where the American Family Association is based. I listen to their radio station AFR all the time.
They are listed as a hate group by the commie pervs at the Southern Poverty Law Center. I wouldn’t put it past them to try and link this guy to AFA.
My first thought! Hard to believe, but early in his acting career he played semi-hearthrobs in horse operas. I always liked ol’ Festus.....
He signed the notes with his real initials?
This is a stupid man.
I can’t find the slightest actual scrap of information or a picture of this guy.
Is there a picture? Are we sure he’s white? “Kenneth Curtis” could be either.
Ban white people.
I’ve got one Aunt that sang with the sons of the Pioneers and an Uncle that played a piano for them.
Just an aside, that was a great book. Hope you have read it.
Probably just rice.
Don't worry... They're working on it.
I did a Google search for Kenneth Curtis Tupelo Ricin and a pic showed up in the search next to an article. HOWEVER, I think it is of the author so I could be wrong. If so my apologies for jumping the gun.
