By Pete Williams, Kristen Welker and Erin McClam, NBC News Federal agents on Wednesday arrested a suspect in the mailing of letters to President Barack Obama and a U.S. senator that initially tested positive for the poison ricin.

The suspect was identified as Kenneth Curtis of Tupelo, Miss., federal officials told NBC News.

Both letters carried an identical closing statement, according to an FBI bulletin obtained by NBC News on Wednesday.

According to the FBI bulletin, both letters, postmarked April 8, 2013 out of Memphis, Tenn., included an identical phrase, "to see a wrong and not expose it, is to become a silent partner to its continuance."

In addition, both letters are signed: "I am KC and I approve this message."

Well ricin is derived from castor beans. Let's say the guy took some castor oil and got some on his fingers. Or let's say he handled some other product made from castor beans. That would leave traces of castor DNA on what ever he touched. Don't know if that would react to what ever test is used to find it on mail, but could be possible.

If that turns out to be the case he hasn't committed a crime. He has apparently sent letters regularly to various people in Washington and that is not out of the ordinary.

How much do you think the settlement will be for the false arrest? Can't help but think of Richard Jewel guy and the Atlanta bombing.

Ha! they will ignore that he’s a democrat and just discuss him being a radical Christian. And see, Christians like to kill people just as much as Muslim’s do so all religions are equally bad for society.

. ......Since Curtis arrived in the town, he had been living in “government housing.”

Oh that’s real smart....’biting off the hand that feeds you’...the guys not too smart.

Now he’ll truly have government housing in the row.

Looking at the photo of him - his skin doesn’t look very white to me. It looks darker toned and I don’t mean black. Frankly, he could be significantly native American. If so, his appearance would make Pochahantas Liz Warren blush with shame at her ethnicity claim - that is if she had any shame.

An earlier version of this story misidentified the suspect based on initial information from police as Kenneth Curtis. The suspect’s name, who was arrested in association with mailing letters with Ricin to President Barack Obama and a U.S. Senator, is Paul Kevin Curtis of Tupelo, Miss.
