“Cannot tell you how proud I am to see Margaret Thatcher’s granddaughter lives in Texas. Chokes me up.”

As a person who grew up in Texas, and struggling to get back there, it seems appropriate. Maggie had a Texas attitude. I live in TN and it is conservative, but it ain’t Texas

... People .... this video needs to go viral. This is the type of thing that makes people sit up and take notice. She is from the US not to mention from TEXAS and handled herself on the international stage very well.

Please find a link to the video and share with as many people as possible!!

Texas is not where you were born, but a State of Heart, Mind & Attitude.

Leave us alone to live our lives in peace and we will get along fine, if that is not satisfactory, we will deal with it.

And yes, Texans are good neighbors.

I prefer to believe the black messiah in the white house was snubbed. He and the wookie were not invited

Black trash would not be appropriate at an upscale event

You’re not the first to suggest that. I would not blame the Brits if they told him to stay away.

Would not want him at my funeral. My neighbors reaction would be “interesting”. hee hee hee

Are you kidding?

That seems a bit desperate. Not every pretty face who can read is a good candidate for president. In fact, most are not.

She has not done anything yet but go to high screwl and read some passages from the Bible without stumbling. No more credentials than the current reader in chief.

Now that's one heck of a piece of trivia. However did you find that out? (Enquiring minds want to know!)

I can't speak for AmericanMother, but some of us have had to be trained in all these protocols and ceremonies.

AmericanMother is quite correct about the passage - it is read at every Service of the Most Noble Order of the Garter. It is considered to sum up the noble ideals of Knightly Chivalry that lie at the core of what that Order is meant to stand for.

There is no requirement that it be used at a funeral of a Garter Knight or Lady Companion, but it is a traditional choice, and Lady Thatcher was, rightly, proud of her elevation to the highest of England's Orders of Chivalry.

For those of us that know absolutely nothing on this topic, from wiki

The Most Noble Order of the Garter, founded in 1348, is the highest order of chivalry existing in England and is dedicated to the image and arms of St. George as England's patron saint. It is bestowed on recipients from British and other Commonwealth realms. After peerages (and after the Victoria Cross and George Cross), it is the pinnacle of the honours system in the United Kingdom. Membership in the order is limited to the Sovereign, the Prince of Wales, and no more than twenty-four members, or Companions.

Just an Anglophile from way back, that's all, with a brain that retains useless trivia in a back pigeonhole - I think I read it on teh intermenets somewhere . . . . :-)

The Garter is the pinnacle, from the point of view of chivalry.

West, Texas will recover and prosper. Not from the Fed, but from the private citizens of Texas and America. There will be new industry in that town and an outpouring of giving from good people not forced by the government.

Judging from the reaction of folks that saw it on my facebook post, you’re in the minority. The young lady composed herself magnificintly and brought comparisons of her grandmother
