Obama's Official Snub Of Thatcher Funeral Shows How Small He Is
Investor's Business Daily ^ | 17 April 2013 | Editorial

Protocol: President Obama declined to send a high-level delegation to Wednesday's funeral of Britain's Margaret Thatcher. It's a measure of how little he values the special relationship — and a sign of his own smallness. Back in more gracious times, vice presidents routinely attended funerals of foreign dignitaries. As such, the presence of Vice President Joe Biden — if not Obama himself — would seem fitting for as significant a U.S. ally as the late Prime Minister Thatcher, if not out of warmth of feeling, then simply to represent the U.S.' gratitude. Thatcher's uncompromising friendship with the U.S. helped to set off a free-market revolution, end the Cold War, and left the U.S. and U.K. the standard-bearers for freedom in the world — the very basis of the power Obama now enjoys. But appallingly, not even Biden could be spared for the funeral of the most consequential British prime minister since Winston Churchill.

Neil Kinnock was going to attend in Biden’s place.

When I first heard of Margaret Thatcher's death, this is the kitchen conversation:

I cried, thought of Reagan, Thatcher and Reagan together, her speeches in Parliament, memories of the Falklands war. . After I calmed down I said, "The young people have no idea what she did for Western Civilization, etc." Then I said, "Obama better go, if he doesn't it will be a real slap in the face to her legacy and to Britain. I bet he'll end up sending Biden. What a wimp-out."

Obama sent No One! What a disgrace from a classless, unsophisticated, uneducated thug.

Many regular Brits were supportive of BO’s election until he tossed Churchill’s bust from the Oval Office.

He surely carries a grudge on behalf of his BRITISH father and truly is an Anglophobe. Not a Statesman - just a small, spiteful child.

Add to the ‘politically correct’ list: anti-UK!!!!! Oscar Wilde is not amused.

Remember how uncultured and illiterate Obama was with the Queen. He had no idea of the protocol, and effed up constantly. It would actually be beneath the dignity of Thatcher and the Queen to have either Obama or Biden there. Better that the old Reaganites go. They too are warriors. Obama is a fag.

When Texas Senator John Tower was refused confirmation as George HW Bush’s SecDef, Cheney was put in for Tower and quickly confirmed. Therefore he served during “Reagan’s third term” - as some wanted to call the first Bush Presidency, and during Mrs. Thatcher’s later years. He is a respectful guy, but let’s face it Cheney has a special reason for being there to show respect. The others you mentioned, not so much. It’s amazing how much of this nation’s important history Cheney has lived...

The GOP should have sent a bunch of their top people along with an apology for our child king.

You'd think, but I'll bet the Muzzies and the rest of their 5th world immigrants hate her more than they dislike the Oresident.

He’ll never have balls as big as hers. That must really bother him, like the it bothers the anti-military crowd.

Had a French or German President or Prime Minister passed away, at least Biden would have attended. From the first few months of this Administration, Obama's anti-British attitude has been evident. I suspect that even if Tony Blair were to die while he is President, there would be no official American presence.

Obama is insufferably petty. John Kennedy, who had a better case for holding anti-British grudges than Obama, as Ireland was occupied by the Brits for eight centuries, vs. a century or so for Kenya, treated the nation's principal European ally with far more respect.

I’m sure Lady Thatcher doesn’t mind. I’m sure she depised him and his ilk

I'm seriously disappointed that George Bush didn't step up and fill the political void.

It was a prime opportunity to deliver a stirring Conservative message and score a few badly needed points for the Republican Party.

Of course, they hate Bush even more than they hate Thatcher in the UK, so perhaps he would have been a bigger distraction than a help.

As such, the presence of Vice President Joe Biden — if not Obama himself — would seem fitting...

The Brits probably sent a "back channel" message for both of them to stay home. That's what would be fitting for those two morons.

To all our great friends in the UK, we apologize for the actions of our monkey boy president.

Our greatest downfall is too many public school educated robots fall for someone with charisma. Too bad they did’t all fall for Jim Jones.
