I think Ayotte concluded that she just couldn’t afford to offend them, not even if Obama and Reid promised her tons of gravy for the state.

I'll take it.

This won't just be a great victory for the 2nd Amendment, but also a high-profile loss for the preezy. It's important that he be labeled as a loser. It helps to diminish his aura of invincibility.

Sen. John C. Calhoun voted against the Tariff of Abominations, which he wrote!

So far I’ve seen her only as another McCain acolyte, like Lindsay Graham. I can’t see much resemblance to Baroness Thatcher. How do you connect the two women?

He's spent his wad using those little kids for his purposes - and he's losing.

He's beat that horse to death - so can't use it anymore - in the meantime, is he realizing what the term "lame duck" means? (Little harder for a narcissist)

You are spot on...this is just CYA on her part. Conservatives should NOT count on her vote...

[[but there are still a lot of gun lovers there]]

That doesn’t matter- their rights WILL be taken away once the federal mental health bill IS put htrough- they might fail this year to get it htrough, but the FACT that republicans caved in and capitulated to the idea of a vote just emboldened them to kep trying year after year until they get it through- Hell- they might even decide to do what NY did- just ram it htrough without anyone’s approval and htne overnight everyone owning any of hte newly banned guns or clips will becoem instant felons, and puti nto a national databse of ‘potential threats’

We are3 quickly gettign ot a pojtn of no return- we iwll have only one of 2 chocies- fight for our rights or allow hte govenrment to remove our rights- I’m guessign hte latter wil lbe the course of ‘action’ the US will take as we’ve already seen them takign that course of ‘
action’ in NY and other states- Gov says it’s illegal, peopel flock to the police statiosn to turn in their ‘illegal weapons’ - gov says it’s ilelgal, the peopel give up-

[[GOOD! Now the rats DON’T have the votes and are biting their tails.]]

THIS time- the problem is that now they KNOW they can get unconstitutional bills to the floor WITHOUT the proper opposition that hsoudl have shut this bill down flat before it even reached the floor- that is the problem with the republicans bringign this to a vote- Now thel eft will try try try again until they get thsi andm ore unconstitutional bills to the floor for votes- and with hteir record of corrupting republicans an bribign htem- it’s only a matter of time before they get enough votes on soemthign that shoudl NEVER have been voted on i nthe firstp lace!

Thanks for the confirmation. I thought maybe I’d missed something. I don’t follow as closely as I once did. Don’t feel as if there are too many we can count on any more. There will be a turnaround, I’m just not sure I’ll still be around for it.

Her 95% ACU Conservative voting record is impressive. She is, certifiably, a Conservative which is more than can be said of most everyone else.

I, now that you’ve called me on this, don’t really see anyone that could conceivably resemble Margaret Thatcher, unfortunately.

Maybe Michelle Malkin.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to “call you” on Sen Ayotte. Like you, I just don’t see ANYONE up there now who could fit the Iron Lady’s (or Reagan’s) shoes. And anyone who associates to closely with McCain is automatically somewhat suspect in my book.
