From way it is draped over his arm, and the angle of his arm, it does not look like there is anything heavy in that bag.

I believe the backpack is from the other bomb site than your picture is showing. The other site was also where there was the pressure cooker remains. This bomb site was where the bomb was “in a metal container.” Look at this link and you will see a reflective (metalic?) container at the feet of a man. He is also carring a backpack. Could he have place this first bomb and then walked down the street and placed the backpack bomb in that location?
To find the refletive object follow the green line down the left half of the page until it cuts through the reflective object. That is about the location of where you say the bomb went off.

Shortly after one of the bombs went off, video showed a guy in tan BDUs runs in from the left to help pull the fence out of the way, from the street side. But when the guy runs up he doesn’t look masculine in his running and looks a lot like what I’ve seen in videos of Israeli bombing videos, running into the picture after a bomb has been exploded. What better way to hide in plain sight than to rip off a black jacket and run toward the vicitms, to help haul them away?
