Nassim Nicholas Taleb is a very interesting writer. He condemns journalists, which puts him on the side of the angels there if I am the judge, but he also condemns economists. And that could be painting with too broad a brush, as far as I’m concerned.

However, Taleb calls Adam Smith a philosopher rather than an economist, and he provides mathematics which seems to justify his low opinion of some of economics. And for that matter, there is in fact an entire branch of economics called “Macroeconomics” which I consider pure BS.

I would love to see Thomas Sowell and Nassim Taleb critique each other’s work.

Thanks for the heads up.

I’d like to see them face off also because Thomas Sowell is both a philosopher and economist, and a first rate one.
